Verse 1 (padma.5.76.1)

ईश्वर उवाच-। अत्र शिशुपालं निहतं श्रुत्वा दंतवक्त्रः कृष्णेन योद्धुं मथुरामाजगाम

īśvara uvāca- atra śiśupālaṁ nihataṁ śrutvā daṁtavaktraḥ kṛṣṇena yoddhuṁ mathurāmājagāma

Ishvara said: "Here, having heard of the slaying of Shishupala, Dantavaktra came to Mathura to fight with Krishna."

Verse 2 (padma.5.76.2)

कृष्णस्तु तच्छ्रुत्वा रथमारुह्य तेन सह मथुरामाययौ

kṛṣṇastu tacchrutvā rathamāruhya tena saha mathurāmāyayau

"Krishna, hearing of this, mounting his chariot, went to Mathura to meet him."

Verse 3 (padma.5.76.3)

अथ तं हत्वा यमुनामुत्तीर्य नंदव्रजं गत्वा पितरावभिवाद्याश्वास्य ताभ्यामालिंगितः सकल गोपवृद्धान्परिष्वज्य तानाश्वास्य बहुवस्त्राभरणादिभिस्तत्रस्थान्सर्वान्संतर्पयामास

atha taṁ hatvā yamunāmuttīrya naṁdavrajaṁ gatvā pitarāvabhivādyāśvāsya tābhyāmāliṁgitaḥ sakala gopavṛddhānpariṣvajya tānāśvāsya bahuvastrābharaṇādibhistatrasthānsarvānsaṁtarpayāmāsa

"Then, having slain him, crossing the Yamuna, going to Nanda's cow-settlement, having greeted and comforted his parents, embraced by them both, he embraced all the elder cowherds, comforted them, and satisfied all those present there with many garments, ornaments, and the like."

Verse 4 (padma.5.76.4)

कालिंद्याः पुलिने रम्ये पुण्यवृक्षसमाकीर्णे गोपस्त्रीभिरहर्निशं क्रीडासुखेन त्रिरात्रं तत्र समुवास

kāliṁdyāḥ puline ramye puṇyavṛkṣasamākīrṇe gopastrībhiraharniśaṁ krīḍāsukhena trirātraṁ tatra samuvāsa

"On the delightful sandy bank of the Kalindi, thronged with sacred trees, he dwelt there for three nights, day and night, in the joy of play with the cowherd women."

Verse 5 (padma.5.76.5)

तत्र स्थले नंदगोपादयः सर्वे जनाः पुत्रदारसहिताः पशुपक्षिमृगादयोऽपि वासुदेवप्रसादेन दिव्यरूपधरा विमानसमारूढाः परमं लोकं वैकुंठमवापुः

tatra sthale naṁdagopādayaḥ sarve janāḥ putradārasahitāḥ paśupakṣimṛgādayo'pi vāsudevaprasādena divyarūpadharā vimānasamārūḍhāḥ paramaṁ lokaṁ vaikuṁṭhamavāpuḥ

"In that place, Nanda, the cowherds, and all the people, together with their wives and children, and even the animals, birds, and deer, by the grace of Vasudeva, assuming divine forms, mounted upon celestial chariots, attained the supreme realm of Vaikuntha."

Verse 6 (padma.5.76.6)

श्रीकृष्णस्तु नंदगोपव्रजौकसां सर्वेषां निरामयं स्वपदं दत्वा देवगणैः स्तूयमानः। श्रीमतीं द्वारावतीं विवेश

śrīkṛṣṇastu naṁdagopavrajaukasāṁ sarveṣāṁ nirāmayaṁ svapadaṁ datvā devagaṇaiḥ stūyamānaḥ śrīmatīṁ dvārāvatīṁ viveśa

"Shri Krishna, having granted his own imperishable state to all the residents of Nanda's cowherd settlement, praised by the hosts of gods, entered glorious Dvaravati."

Verse 7 (padma.5.76.7)

तत्र वसुदेवोग्रसेनसंकर्षणप्रद्युम्नानिरुद्धाक्रूरादिभिः प्रत्यहं संपूजितः षोडशसहस्राष्टाधिकमहिषीभिश्च विश्वरूपधरो दिव्यरत्नमय लतागृहांतरे-। षु सुरतरुकुसुमार्चितश्लक्ष्णतरपर्यंकेषु रमयामास

tatra vasudevograsenasaṁkarṣaṇapradyumnāniruddhākrūrādibhiḥ pratyahaṁ saṁpūjitaḥ ṣoḍaśasahasrāṣṭādhikamahiṣībhiśca viśvarūpadharo divyaratnamaya latāgṛhāṁtare- ṣu suratarukusumārcitaślakṣṇataraparyaṁkeṣu ramayāmāsa

"There, daily honored by Vasudeva, Ugrasena, Sankarshana, Pradyumna, Aniruddha, Akrura and the others, and by his sixteen thousand and eight queens, assuming a universal form, he sported within bowers of divine jeweled creepers, upon the softest couches worshipped with the flowers of celestial trees."

Verse 8 (padma.5.76.8)

एवं हितार्थाय सर्वदेवानां समस्तभूभारविनाशाय यदुवंशेऽवतीर्य सकलराक्षसविनाशं कृतमहांतमुर्वीभारं नाशयित्वा नंदव्रजद्वारिकावासिनः स्थावरजंगमान्भवबंधनान्मोचयित्वा परमे शाश्वते योगिध्येये रम्ये धाम्नि संस्थाप्य नित्यं दिव्यमहिष्यादिभिः संसेव्यमानो वासुदेवोऽखिलेषूवाच

evaṁ hitārthāya sarvadevānāṁ samastabhūbhāravināśāya yaduvaṁśe'vatīrya sakalarākṣasavināśaṁ kṛtamahāṁtamurvībhāraṁ nāśayitvā naṁdavrajadvārikāvāsinaḥ sthāvarajaṁgamānbhavabaṁdhanānmocayitvā parame śāśvate yogidhyeye ramye dhāmni saṁsthāpya nityaṁ divyamahiṣyādibhiḥ saṁsevyamāno vāsudevo'khileṣūvāca

"Thus, for the welfare of all the gods, having descended in the Yadu lineage for the destruction of the entire burden of the earth, having destroyed the whole host of demons and the great burden of the earth, having freed the residents of Nanda's Vraja and of Dvaraka — both the moving and the unmoving — from the bonds of worldly existence, having established them in the supreme, eternal, delightful abode meditated upon by yogis, ever served there by his divine queens and the rest, Vasudeva spoke to all:"

Verse 9 (padma.5.76.9)

असीदव्याकृतं ब्रह्मकरकाघृतयोरिव । प्रकृतिस्थो गुणान्मुक्तो द्रवीभूत्वा दिवं गतः

asīdavyākṛtaṁ brahmakarakāghṛtayoriva prakṛtistho guṇānmukto dravībhūtvā divaṁ gataḥ

"'It existed unmanifest, like clarified butter held within the hands of Brahma; abiding in its own nature, freed from the gunas, having become liquefied, he went to heaven.'"
