Verse 1 (padma.6.138.1)

महादेव उवाच। गणतीर्थं ततो गच्छेत्तीर्थयात्रापरायणः । त्रिविष्टपमिति प्रोक्तं गणैस्तु चंदना तटे

mahādeva uvāca gaṇatīrthaṁ tato gacchettīrthayātrāparāyaṇaḥ triviṣṭapamiti proktaṁ gaṇaistu caṁdanā taṭe

Mahadeva said: 'One devoted to pilgrimage should then go to Ganatirtha, which the gana-hosts, on the bank of the Chandana, have called Trivishtapa.'

Verse 2 (padma.6.138.2)

त्रिविष्टपे नरः स्नात्वा पूर्णमास्यां समाहितः । संशयो नात्र कर्त्तव्यो मुच्यते ब्रह्महत्यया

triviṣṭape naraḥ snātvā pūrṇamāsyāṁ samāhitaḥ saṁśayo nātra karttavyo mucyate brahmahatyayā

'Bathing at Trivishtapa on the full-moon day, with focused mind, a man is freed from the sin of killing a brahmin — no doubt should be entertained about this.'

Verse 3 (padma.6.138.3)

चतुरो वार्षिकान्मासान्स्थितिर्यस्य त्रिविष्टपे । सोऽपि पुण्यो महाभागे रुद्रलोके महीयते

caturo vārṣikānmāsānsthitiryasya triviṣṭape so'pi puṇyo mahābhāge rudraloke mahīyate

'One who dwells at Trivishtapa for the four rainy months, he too becomes greatly meritorious, glorified in the world of Rudra.'

Verse 4 (padma.6.138.4)

गणतीर्थे नरः स्नात्वा कृष्णाष्टम्यामुपोषितः । बकुलासंगमे स्नात्वा स्वर्गं गच्छति मानवः

gaṇatīrthe naraḥ snātvā kṛṣṇāṣṭamyāmupoṣitaḥ bakulāsaṁgame snātvā svargaṁ gacchati mānavaḥ

'Bathing at Ganatirtha, fasting on the dark eighth day of the fortnight, and bathing at the confluence with the Bakula — such a man attains heaven.'

Verse 5 (padma.6.138.5)

तस्मिंस्तीर्थे नरः स्नात्वा बकुलेशं विलोक्य च । गणेश्वरप्रसादेन गाणपत्यमवाप्नुयात्

tasmiṁstīrthe naraḥ snātvā bakuleśaṁ vilokya ca gaṇeśvaraprasādena gāṇapatyamavāpnuyāt

'Bathing at that ford and beholding Bakulesha, by the grace of Ganeshvara, a man attains the realm of Ganapati.'

Verse 6 (padma.6.138.6)

इदं पवित्रं परमं पुण्यायुष्यविवर्द्धनम् । श्रुत्वा तु लभते पुण्यं गंगास्नानसमं नरः

idaṁ pavitraṁ paramaṁ puṇyāyuṣyavivarddhanam śrutvā tu labhate puṇyaṁ gaṁgāsnānasamaṁ naraḥ

'This is exceedingly sacred, increasing both merit and lifespan. By merely hearing of it, a man obtains merit equal to bathing in the Ganga.'

Verse 7 (padma.6.138.7)

अत्र स्थित्वा निराहारो जितेंद्रिय समाहितः । जपत्येवं परं देवं गणेश्वरं मनोरमम्

atra sthitvā nirāhāro jiteṁdriya samāhitaḥ japatyevaṁ paraṁ devaṁ gaṇeśvaraṁ manoramam

'One who dwells here, taking no food, having mastered his senses, focused in mind, and thus recites the name of the supreme god, the enchanting Ganeshvara,'

Verse 8 (padma.6.138.8)

संप्राप्नोत्यखिलान्भोगान्सत्यं सत्यं वरानने । अत्र राजा सोमवंशी विश्वदत्तः स वीर्यवान्

saṁprāpnotyakhilānbhogānsatyaṁ satyaṁ varānane atra rājā somavaṁśī viśvadattaḥ sa vīryavān

'obtains every enjoyment — truly, truly, O fair-faced one. Here the mighty king Vishvadatta, of the lunar dynasty,'

Verse 9 (padma.6.138.9)

तेन तपो महत्तप्तं बहुकालं सुरेश्वरि । गाणपत्यं तदा प्राप्तं श्रीगणेशप्रसादतः

tena tapo mahattaptaṁ bahukālaṁ sureśvari gāṇapatyaṁ tadā prāptaṁ śrīgaṇeśaprasādataḥ

'O queen of gods, performed great austerity for a long time, and then, by the grace of Shri Ganesha, attained the state of Ganapati.'

Verse 10 (padma.6.138.10)

वसिष्ठो वामदेवश्च होडः कौशीतको मुनिः । भरद्वाजोंगिराश्चैव विश्वामित्रोऽथ वामनः

vasiṣṭho vāmadevaśca hoḍaḥ kauśītako muniḥ bharadvājoṁgirāścaiva viśvāmitro'tha vāmanaḥ

'Vasishtha, Vamadeva, Hoda, the sage Kaushitaka, Bharadvaja, Angiras, Vishvamitra, and Vamana —'

Verse 11 (padma.6.138.11)

एते वै मुनयः सर्वे पुण्यरूपा महेश्वरि । नित्यं सेवां प्रकुर्वंति श्रीगणेशप्रसादतः

ete vai munayaḥ sarve puṇyarūpā maheśvari nityaṁ sevāṁ prakurvaṁti śrīgaṇeśaprasādataḥ

'O great goddess, all these sages, embodiments of merit, forever render service there, seeking the grace of Shri Ganesha.'

Verse 12 (padma.6.138.12)

अपुत्रो लभते पुत्रान्निर्द्धनो लभते धनम् । अविद्यो लभते विद्यां मोक्षार्थी मोक्षमाप्नुयात्

aputro labhate putrānnirddhano labhate dhanam avidyo labhate vidyāṁ mokṣārthī mokṣamāpnuyāt

'The sonless obtain sons, the poor obtain wealth; the unlearned obtain learning, and one who seeks liberation attains liberation.'

Verse 13 (padma.6.138.13)

किमन्यद्बहुनोक्तेन भूयोभूयो वरानने । योऽत्र स्नानं प्रकुर्वीत पूजनं वा करोति च

kimanyadbahunoktena bhūyobhūyo varānane yo'tra snānaṁ prakurvīta pūjanaṁ vā karoti ca

'O fair-faced one, what more is served by saying so much, again and again? Whoever bathes here, or performs worship here,'

Verse 14 (padma.6.138.14)

सर्वपापविनिर्मुक्तो याति विष्णोः परं पदम् । शिवाय विष्णुरूपाय विष्णवे शिवरूपिणे

sarvapāpavinirmukto yāti viṣṇoḥ paraṁ padam śivāya viṣṇurūpāya viṣṇave śivarūpiṇe

'freed from every sin, goes to the supreme abode of Vishnu. To Shiva who bears the form of Vishnu, and to Vishnu who bears the form of Shiva —'

Verse 15 (padma.6.138.15)

नांतरं देवि पश्यामि श्रीविष्णोश्च प्रसादतः

nāṁtaraṁ devi paśyāmi śrīviṣṇośca prasādataḥ

'O goddess, by the grace of Shri Vishnu, I see no distinction between the two.'
