Narada's Visit to Padmavati in the Garden
Verse 1 (skanda.2.4.1)
धरण्युवाच। उक्तं भगवता तस्य वियत्पुत्रस्य नाम च। अयोनिजायास्तत्पुत्र्याः किं नाम च तदाऽकरोत्
dharaṇyuvāca| uktaṁ bhagavatā tasya viyatputrasya nāma ca| ayonijāyāstatputryāḥ kiṁ nāma ca tadā'karot
Dharani said: You have told the name given to Viyat's son; but what name did he then give to that daughter not born of a womb?
Verse 2 (skanda.2.4.2)
श्रीसूत उवाच। इति पृष्टः पुनः प्राह श्रीवराहो जगत्पतिः
śrīsūta uvāca| iti pṛṣṭaḥ punaḥ prāha śrīvarāho jagatpatiḥ
Sri Suta said: Thus asked, the Lord of the universe, Sri Varaha, spoke again.
Verse 3 (skanda.2.4.3)
श्रीवराह उवाच। आकाशराजो मतिमांस्तां दृष्ट्वा कमलेशयाम्
śrīvarāha uvāca| ākāśarājo matimāṁstāṁ dṛṣṭvā kamaleśayām
Sri Varaha said: The wise King Akasha, beholding that maiden lying upon a lotus -
Verse 4 (skanda.2.4.4)
पद्मिनीति च नाम्ना वै चकार वसुधासुताम्। तां तु यौवनसम्पन्नां सखीभिः परिवारिताम्
padminīti ca nāmnā vai cakāra vasudhāsutām| tāṁ tu yauvanasampannāṁ sakhībhiḥ parivāritām
gave that daughter of the earth the name Padmini. Her, now come to youth, surrounded by companions -
Verse 5 (skanda.2.4.5)
आरामे विहरंतीं च शुककोकिलनादिते। यदृच्छयाऽऽगतस्तत्र नारदो मुनिसत्तमः
ārāme viharaṁtīṁ ca śukakokilanādite| yadṛcchayā''gatastatra nārado munisattamaḥ
as she sported in a garden resounding with the calls of parrots and cuckoos, Narada, best of sages, who had come there by chance -
Verse 6 (skanda.2.4.6)
वनलक्ष्मीमिवालोक्य विस्मयादिदमब्रवीत्
vanalakṣmīmivālokya vismayādidamabravīt
beholding her as though she were the very Lakshmi of the forest, said this in astonishment.
Verse 7 (skanda.2.4.7)
नारद उवाच। कासि कस्य सुता भीरु हस्तं दर्शय मे तव। इत्युक्ता सा सुचार्वंगी स्वात्मानं मुनयेऽब्रवीत्
nārada uvāca| kāsi kasya sutā bhīru hastaṁ darśaya me tava| ityuktā sā sucārvaṁgī svātmānaṁ munaye'bravīt
Narada said: Who are you, timid one, and whose daughter? Show me your hand. Thus addressed, that lovely-limbed maiden told the sage of herself.
Verse 8 (skanda.2.4.8)
वियद्राजसुता ब्रह्मँल्लक्षणानि वदस्व मे। इत्युक्तः स तदा प्राह नारदो मुनिसत्तमः
viyadrājasutā brahma~llakṣaṇāni vadasva me| ityuktaḥ sa tadā prāha nārado munisattamaḥ
"I am the daughter of King Viyat; O Brahmin, tell me my characteristic marks." Thus addressed, Narada, best of sages, then spoke.
Verse 9 (skanda.2.4.9)
नारदउवाच। शृणु त्वं चारुवदने लक्षणानि वदामि ते। पादौ प्रतिष्ठितौ सुभ्रु रक्तपद्मदलान्वितौ
nāradauvāca| śṛṇu tvaṁ cāruvadane lakṣaṇāni vadāmi te| pādau pratiṣṭhitau subhru raktapadmadalānvitau
Narada said: Listen, O lovely-faced one, I shall tell you your marks. O fair-browed one, your two feet are firmly set and like petals of the red lotus.
Verse 10 (skanda.2.4.10)
पादांगुल्यः समा रक्ता रक्ततुंगनखान्विताः। गुल्फौ गूढौ समावेतौ जंघे चारोमशे शुभे
pādāṁgulyaḥ samā raktā raktatuṁganakhānvitāḥ| gulphau gūḍhau samāvetau jaṁghe cāromaśe śubhe
Your toes are even, red, tipped with high red nails; your ankles are hidden and even; your two calves are hairless and auspicious.
Verse 11 (skanda.2.4.11)
जानुनी समसुस्निग्धे समावूरू क्रमादुरू। नितंबौ पृथुलौ पीनौ जघनं चिंत्यमेव हि
jānunī samasusnigdhe samāvūrū kramādurū| nitaṁbau pṛthulau pīnau jaghanaṁ ciṁtyameva hi
Your two knees are even and smooth; your two thighs are broad in due proportion; your hips are wide and full; your loins are a thing to be contemplated indeed.
Verse 12 (skanda.2.4.12)
नाभिर्मंडलवान्निम्नः पार्श्वौ ते मेदुरावुभौ। त्रिवलीललितं मध्यं रोमराजिविराजितम्
nābhirmaṁḍalavānnimnaḥ pārśvau te medurāvubhau| trivalīlalitaṁ madhyaṁ romarājivirājitam
Your navel is round and deep, your two flanks are full; your waist is graceful with its three folds and beautified by a line of down.
Verse 13 (skanda.2.4.13)
स्तनौ पीनौ घनौ स्निग्धाबुन्नतौ मग्नचूचुकौ। करौ ते रक्तपद्माभौ पद्मरेखासमन्वितौ। सुसूक्ष्मौ रक्तसत्पर्व निरन्तरसमांगुली
stanau pīnau ghanau snigdhābunnatau magnacūcukau| karau te raktapadmābhau padmarekhāsamanvitau| susūkṣmau raktasatparva nirantarasamāṁgulī
Your two breasts are full, firm, soft, raised, with deep-set nipples; your two hands are like red lotuses, marked with lotus-lines; your fingers are most delicate, with red, well-formed joints, close-set and even.
Verse 14 (skanda.2.4.14)
शुकतुंडसमाकारनखपंक्तिविराजितौ। दीर्घौ च कोमलौ भद्रे भुजौ ते पुष्पदंडवत्
śukatuṁḍasamākāranakhapaṁktivirājitau| dīrghau ca komalau bhadre bhujau te puṣpadaṁḍavat
The row of your nails is beautiful, shaped like a parrot's beak; O gracious one, your two arms are long and soft as flower-stalks.
Verse 15 (skanda.2.4.15)
पृष्ठं ते वेदिवद्भाति विलग्नमृजु मध्यमम्। कंठस्तु रक्तो दीर्घश्च स्कन्धौ चावनतौ शुभे
pṛṣṭhaṁ te vedivadbhāti vilagnamṛju madhyamam| kaṁṭhastu rakto dīrghaśca skandhau cāvanatau śubhe
Your back gleams like a sacrificial altar, your waist is slender and straight; your throat is ruddy and long, O auspicious one, and your two shoulders slope gracefully.
Verse 16 (skanda.2.4.16)
मुखं प्रसन्नं सततमकलंकशशिप्रभम्। कपोलौ कनकादर्शसदृशौ कुंडलोज्ज्वलौ
mukhaṁ prasannaṁ satatamakalaṁkaśaśiprabham| kapolau kanakādarśasadṛśau kuṁḍalojjvalau
Your face is ever serene, radiant as the spotless moon; your two cheeks are like golden mirrors, bright with earrings.
Verse 17 (skanda.2.4.17)
तिलपुष्पसमाकारा नासिका ते शुभानने। अकलंकाष्टमीचंद्रसदृशोऽतिमनोहरः
tilapuṣpasamākārā nāsikā te śubhānane| akalaṁkāṣṭamīcaṁdrasadṛśo'timanoharaḥ
O fair-faced one, your nose is shaped like a sesame flower; and, most enchanting -
Verse 18 (skanda.2.4.18)
दृश्यतेऽयं ललाटस्ते नीलालकसुशोभितः। मूर्धा ते समवृत्तश्च स्निग्धायतकचान्वितः
dṛśyate'yaṁ lalāṭaste nīlālakasuśobhitaḥ| mūrdhā te samavṛttaśca snigdhāyatakacānvitaḥ
is seen to be your forehead, beautified with dark curling locks and resembling the spotless moon of the eighth day; your head is evenly rounded, adorned with sleek, long hair.
Verse 19 (skanda.2.4.19)
स्मितसंशोभिदशनं बिंबाधरसमन्वितम्। मुखं ते विष्णुयोग्यं स्यादिति मे निश्चिता मतिः
smitasaṁśobhidaśanaṁ biṁbādharasamanvitam| mukhaṁ te viṣṇuyogyaṁ syāditi me niścitā matiḥ
Your mouth is beautified by a smiling row of teeth and a lip like the bimba fruit; it is my firm conviction that your face is worthy of Vishnu.
Verse 20 (skanda.2.4.20)
नाभिस्ते दक्षिणावर्त आवर्त इव गांगजः। त्वं हि क्षीराब्धिसम्भूता लक्ष्मीरिव हि दृश्यसे
nābhiste dakṣiṇāvarta āvarta iva gāṁgajaḥ| tvaṁ hi kṣīrābdhisambhūtā lakṣmīriva hi dṛśyase
Your navel turns to the right, like a whirlpool born of the Ganga; indeed you appear like Lakshmi herself, born of the Ocean of Milk.
Verse 21 (skanda.2.4.21)
श्रीवराह उवाच। इत्युक्त्वा पूजितस्ताभिर्नारदोऽन्तर्दधे तदा। एतच्छ्रुत्वाऽथ तत्सख्यस्तामूचुः पद्मिनीं सखीम्
śrīvarāha uvāca| ityuktvā pūjitastābhirnārado'ntardadhe tadā| etacchrutvā'tha tatsakhyastāmūcuḥ padminīṁ sakhīm
Sri Varaha said: Having said this, Narada, honoured by them, then vanished from sight. Having heard this, her companions then said to their friend Padmini.
Verse 22 (skanda.2.4.22)
वनं गच्छाम पुष्पार्थं वसन्तः समुपागतः। कर्णिकाराश्च चूताश्च चंपकाः पारिभद्रकाः
vanaṁ gacchāma puṣpārthaṁ vasantaḥ samupāgataḥ| karṇikārāśca cūtāśca caṁpakāḥ pāribhadrakāḥ
"Let us go to the forest for flowers, for spring has come. The karnikara, mango, champaka, paribhadraka -
Verse 23 (skanda.2.4.23)
पलाशाः पाटलाः कुन्दा रक्ताशोकाश्च पुष्पिताः। पद्मिन्यः सिन्धुवाराश्च मालत्यो यूथिकालताः
palāśāḥ pāṭalāḥ kundā raktāśokāśca puṣpitāḥ| padminyaḥ sindhuvārāśca mālatyo yūthikālatāḥ
the palasha, patala, kunda, and the flowering red ashoka; the lotus-plants, sinduvara, malati, and vines of yuthika -
Verse 24 (skanda.2.4.24)
कह्लारकरवीराश्च संघर्षादिव पुष्पिताः। पुष्पावचयनं कुर्मो वनेऽस्मिन्सुमनोहरे
kahlārakaravīrāśca saṁgharṣādiva puṣpitāḥ| puṣpāvacayanaṁ kurmo vane'sminsumanohare
the kahlara and karavira, all in flower as though in rivalry — let us gather flowers in this most enchanting forest."
Verse 25 (skanda.2.4.25)
इत्युक्त्वा ता वनं जग्मुराकाशतनयायुताः। पुष्पाण्याहरमाणास्तु विचरन्त्यस्ततस्ततः
ityuktvā tā vanaṁ jagmurākāśatanayāyutāḥ| puṣpāṇyāharamāṇāstu vicarantyastatastataḥ
So saying, they went to the forest together with the daughter of Akasha, and, gathering flowers, wandered here and there.
Verse 26 (skanda.2.4.26)
कंचिद्गजेंद्रं ददृशुः शुभ्रदन्तद्वयोज्ज्वलम्। गण्डभित्तितलोद्भूतमदधाराद्वयोज्ज्वलम्
kaṁcidgajeṁdraṁ dadṛśuḥ śubhradantadvayojjvalam| gaṇḍabhittitalodbhūtamadadhārādvayojjvalam
Then they saw a great elephant, bright with a pair of white tusks, gleaming with the two streams of rut flowing from the sides of its temples.
Verse 27 (skanda.2.4.27)
उन्नतं करिणीयूथैः समुपेतं रजोज्ज्वलम्। फूत्कारिपुष्करप्रोद्यच्छीकरापूरिताननम्
unnataṁ kariṇīyūthaiḥ samupetaṁ rajojjvalam| phūtkāripuṣkaraprodyacchīkarāpūritānanam
It was towering, surrounded by herds of female elephants, covered in dust, its face drenched with spray flung up by its trumpeting trunk.
Verse 28 (skanda.2.4.28)
दृष्ट्वा चोद्विग्नहृदया वनस्पतिमुपाश्रिताः। एतस्मिन्नंतरे चाशु ददृशुर्हयमुत्तमम्
dṛṣṭvā codvignahṛdayā vanaspatimupāśritāḥ| etasminnaṁtare cāśu dadṛśurhayamuttamam
Seeing it, their hearts alarmed, they took shelter beneath a great tree. At that very moment they quickly beheld an excellent horse.
Verse 29 (skanda.2.4.29)
अकलंकेन्दुधवलं जाम्बूनदपरिष्कृतम्। स्फुरद्विद्युल्लतायुक्तशरन्मेघमिवोन्नतम्
akalaṁkendudhavalaṁ jāmbūnadapariṣkṛtam| sphuradvidyullatāyuktaśaranmeghamivonnatam
It was white as the spotless moon, adorned with fine gold, towering like an autumn cloud wreathed with flashing lightning.
Verse 30 (skanda.2.4.30)
तस्मिंस्तु पुरुषं कृष्णं मदनाकारवर्चसम्। पुंडरीकदलाकारकर्णान्तायतलोचनम्
tasmiṁstu puruṣaṁ kṛṣṇaṁ madanākāravarcasam| puṁḍarīkadalākārakarṇāntāyatalocanam
Upon it was a dark-hued man, of splendour like the god of love, whose eyes, shaped like lotus-petals, extended long to the ends of his ears.
Verse 31 (skanda.2.4.31)
सुसूक्ष्मक्षौमसंवीतनीलचूलिकयोज्ज्वलम्। पद्मरागमणिद्योतिस्फुरत्कुंडलमण्डितम्
susūkṣmakṣaumasaṁvītanīlacūlikayojjvalam| padmarāgamaṇidyotisphuratkuṁḍalamaṇḍitam
He was bright with a dark topknot bound in fine silken cloth, adorned with earrings sparkling with the lustre of ruby.
Verse 32 (skanda.2.4.32)
सुवर्णरत्नखचितशार्ङ्गदिव्यधनुर्धरम्। अपरेण करेणैव वहन्तं काञ्चनं शरम्
suvarṇaratnakhacitaśārṅgadivyadhanurdharam| apareṇa kareṇaiva vahantaṁ kāñcanaṁ śaram
He bore a divine bow set with gold and gems, and in his other hand carried a golden arrow.
Verse 33 (skanda.2.4.33)
पीतकक्षोमसंवीतकटिदेशं सुमध्यमम्। रत्नकंकणकेयूरकटिसूत्रविराजितम
pītakakṣomasaṁvītakaṭideśaṁ sumadhyamam| ratnakaṁkaṇakeyūrakaṭisūtravirājitama
His waist, well-formed, was wrapped in a yellow silken cloth; he was resplendent with jewelled bracelets, armlets, and a girdle.
Verse 34 (skanda.2.4.34)
विशालवक्षः संशोभिदक्षिणावर्तसंयुतम्। स्वर्णयज्ञोपवीतेन स्फुरत्स्कन्धं मनोहरम्
viśālavakṣaḥ saṁśobhidakṣiṇāvartasaṁyutam| svarṇayajñopavītena sphuratskandhaṁ manoharam
His broad chest was beautified with a mark turning to the right; his shoulders, gleaming with a golden sacred thread, were enchanting.
Verse 35 (skanda.2.4.35)
ईहामृगं समुद्दिश्य महावेगादनुद्रुतम्। तं दृष्ट्वा विस्मिता नार्यः सस्मितास्तस्थुरत्र वै
īhāmṛgaṁ samuddiśya mahāvegādanudrutam| taṁ dṛṣṭvā vismitā nāryaḥ sasmitāstasthuratra vai
He was pursuing some wild deer, chasing it at great speed. Beholding him, the women, astonished, stood there smiling.
Verse 36 (skanda.2.4.36)
तं दृष्ट्वा हयमारूढं गजेन्द्रो नम्रमस्तकः। तुण्डमुद्धृत्य गर्जन्वै विनिर्वृत्य ययौ वनम्
taṁ dṛṣṭvā hayamārūḍhaṁ gajendro namramastakaḥ| tuṇḍamuddhṛtya garjanvai vinirvṛtya yayau vanam
Seeing him mounted on the horse, the great elephant, bowing its head, raised its trunk, trumpeted, and turning back, went into the forest.
Verse 37 (skanda.2.4.37)
तस्मिन्गते गजे तत्र हयारूढः समाययौ। ईहामृगं विचिन्वानः पुष्पलावीसमीपतः
tasmingate gaje tatra hayārūḍhaḥ samāyayau| īhāmṛgaṁ vicinvānaḥ puṣpalāvīsamīpataḥ
When that elephant had gone, the horse-riding man, searching for the wild deer, came near those flower-gathering women.
Verse 38 (skanda.2.4.38)
ताः समेत्य स चोवाच तुरगोपरि संस्थितः। अत्रागतो मृगः कश्चिदीहामृग इतीरितः
tāḥ sametya sa covāca turagopari saṁsthitaḥ| atrāgato mṛgaḥ kaścidīhāmṛga itīritaḥ
Coming up to them, seated upon his horse, he said: "A certain deer, called the ihamriga, has come this way."
Verse 39 (skanda.2.4.39)
दृष्टो वा भवतीभिः स ब्रूत मे कन्यका इति
dṛṣṭo vā bhavatībhiḥ sa brūta me kanyakā iti
"Have you maidens seen it? Tell me."
Verse 40 (skanda.2.4.40)
श्रीवराह उवाच। प्रत्यूचुस्तास्तु तं कन्या दृष्टोस्माभिर्न कश्चन
śrīvarāha uvāca| pratyūcustāstu taṁ kanyā dṛṣṭosmābhirna kaścana
Sri Varaha said: Those maidens answered him: "We have seen no one."
Verse 41 (skanda.2.4.41)
किमर्थमागतोस्माकं वनं वरधनुर्धरः। अत्रावध्या मृगाः सर्वे वर्तमाना निषादप
kimarthamāgatosmākaṁ vanaṁ varadhanurdharaḥ| atrāvadhyā mṛgāḥ sarve vartamānā niṣādapa
"For what reason, O excellent bowman, have you come to our forest? O lord of hunters, all the deer dwelling here are inviolable."
Verse 42 (skanda.2.4.42)
आशु गच्छ वनादस्मादाकाशनृपपालितात्। इति तासां वचः श्रुत्वा हयादवरुरोह सः
āśu gaccha vanādasmādākāśanṛpapālitāt| iti tāsāṁ vacaḥ śrutvā hayādavaruroha saḥ
"Quickly leave this forest, protected as it is by King Akasha." Hearing their words, he dismounted from his horse.
Verse 43 (skanda.2.4.43)
कास्तु यूयमियं चापि कन्यकांबुजसन्निभा। सुभगा चारुसर्वांगी पीनोन्नतपयोधरा। ब्रूत मेऽहं गमिष्यामि श्रुत्वा स्वस्यालयं गिरिम्
kāstu yūyamiyaṁ cāpi kanyakāṁbujasannibhā| subhagā cārusarvāṁgī pīnonnatapayodharā| brūta me'haṁ gamiṣyāmi śrutvā svasyālayaṁ girim
"Who are you, and who is this maiden, lovely as a lotus, fair of every limb, with full and rounded breasts? Tell me — having heard, I shall return to my own mountain abode."
Verse 44 (skanda.2.4.44)
इति तस्या वचः श्रुत्वा धरण्यात्मजयेरिता। सखी पद्मावती प्राह निषादं पर्वतालयम्
iti tasyā vacaḥ śrutvā dharaṇyātmajayeritā| sakhī padmāvatī prāha niṣādaṁ parvatālayam
Hearing his words, prompted by the daughter of Dharani, Padmavati, her companion spoke to that mountain-dwelling hunter.
Verse 45 (skanda.2.4.45)
आकाशराजतनया वसुधातलसंभवा। अस्माकं नायिका शूर पद्मिनीनाम नामतः
ākāśarājatanayā vasudhātalasaṁbhavā| asmākaṁ nāyikā śūra padminīnāma nāmataḥ
"O hero, she is the daughter of King Akasha, sprung from the surface of the earth, our mistress, named Padmini."
Verse 46 (skanda.2.4.46)
ब्रूहि त्वं सुभगाकार किन्नामा कस्य वा सुतः। जातिः का कुत्र ते वासः किमर्थं त्वमिहागतः। इति पृष्टः स ताः प्राह मन्दस्मितमुखांबुजः
brūhi tvaṁ subhagākāra kinnāmā kasya vā sutaḥ| jātiḥ kā kutra te vāsaḥ kimarthaṁ tvamihāgataḥ| iti pṛṣṭaḥ sa tāḥ prāha mandasmitamukhāṁbujaḥ
"Tell us, O handsome one, what is your name, and whose son are you? What is your lineage, where do you dwell, and for what purpose have you come here?" Thus questioned, he, his lotus-face touched with a faint smile, spoke to them.
Verse 47 (skanda.2.4.47)
दिवाकरकुलं प्राहुरस्माकं तु पुराविदः। यस्य नामान्यनंतानि पावनानि मनीषिणाम्
divākarakulaṁ prāhurasmākaṁ tu purāvidaḥ| yasya nāmānyanaṁtāni pāvanāni manīṣiṇām
"Those learned in ancient lore call our lineage the solar dynasty, whose names, without end, are held sacred by the wise."
Verse 48 (skanda.2.4.48)
वर्णतो नामतश्चापि कृष्णं प्राहुस्तपस्विनः। ब्रह्मद्विषां सुरारीणां यस्य चक्रं भयावहम्
varṇato nāmataścāpi kṛṣṇaṁ prāhustapasvinaḥ| brahmadviṣāṁ surārīṇāṁ yasya cakraṁ bhayāvaham
"By both hue and name, the ascetics call me Krishna, whose discus strikes terror into the demon foes of the brahmins."
Verse 49 (skanda.2.4.49)
यस्य शंखध्वनिं श्रुत्वा मोहमीयुर्हि वैरिणः। यस्य वै धनुषस्तुल्यं धनुर्नैवामरेष्वपि
yasya śaṁkhadhvaniṁ śrutvā mohamīyurhi vairiṇaḥ| yasya vai dhanuṣastulyaṁ dhanurnaivāmareṣvapi
"Hearing whose conch-blast, enemies fall into confusion; and whose bow has no equal even among the immortals."
Verse 50 (skanda.2.4.50)
तं मां वीरपतिं प्राहुर्वेंकटाद्रिनिवासिनम्। तस्मादद्रितटात्सोऽहं निषादैरनुगैर्वृतः
taṁ māṁ vīrapatiṁ prāhurveṁkaṭādrinivāsinam| tasmādadritaṭātso'haṁ niṣādairanugairvṛtaḥ
"Me they call that lord of heroes, dweller of Venkatadri. From that mountain slope, surrounded by my attendant hunters, I -"
Verse 51 (skanda.2.4.51)
मृगयार्थं हयारूढो युष्माकं वनमागतः। मयाप्यनुद्रुतः कश्चिन्मृगो वायुगतिर्ययौ
mṛgayārthaṁ hayārūḍho yuṣmākaṁ vanamāgataḥ| mayāpyanudrutaḥ kaścinmṛgo vāyugatiryayau
"have come mounted on horseback into your forest for the sake of hunting. A certain deer, pursued by me, fled with the speed of the wind."
Verse 52 (skanda.2.4.52)
तमदृष्ट्वा वनं पश्यन्दृष्टवान्सुभगामिमाम्। कामादिहागतोऽहं वो मया किं लभ्यते न्वियम्
tamadṛṣṭvā vanaṁ paśyandṛṣṭavānsubhagāmimām| kāmādihāgato'haṁ vo mayā kiṁ labhyate nviyam
"Failing to find it, while looking about the forest, I beheld this lovely one. It is out of desire that I have come here — can I obtain her?"
Verse 53 (skanda.2.4.53)
इति कृष्णवचः श्रुत्वा कुद्धास्ताः पुनरब्रुवन्। आकाशराजो दृष्ट्वा त्वां कृत्वा निगडबन्धनम्। यावन्नयति तावत्त्वं गच्छ शीघ्रं स्वमालयम्
iti kṛṣṇavacaḥ śrutvā kuddhāstāḥ punarabruvan| ākāśarājo dṛṣṭvā tvāṁ kṛtvā nigaḍabandhanam| yāvannayati tāvattvaṁ gaccha śīghraṁ svamālayam
Hearing Krishna's words, they, enraged, spoke again: "Before King Akasha sees you and has you bound in fetters and led away, go quickly to your own abode."

तर्जितस्ताभिरेवं स हयमारुह्य शीघ्रगम्। युक्तः स्वानुचरैः सर्वैर्ययौ द्रुततरं गिरिम्
tarjitastābhirevaṁ sa hayamāruhya śīghragam| yuktaḥ svānucaraiḥ sarvairyayau drutataraṁ girim
