The Greatness of Trilochana Tirtha

Verse 1 (skanda.5.272.1)

श्रीमार्कण्डेय उवाच। ततो गच्छेत्तु राजेन्द्र पुण्यं तीर्थं त्रिलोचनम्। तत्र तिष्ठति देवेशः सर्वलोकनमस्कृतः।

śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca| tato gacchettu rājendra puṇyaṁ tīrthaṁ trilocanam| tatra tiṣṭhati deveśaḥ sarvalokanamaskṛtaḥ||

Shri Markandeya said: Thereafter, O lord of kings, one should go to the sacred Trilochana tirtha; there dwells the Lord of gods, worshipped by all worlds.

Verse 2 (skanda.5.272.2)

तत्र तीर्थे तु यः स्नात्वा भक्त्यार्चयति शङ्करम्। रुद्रस्य भवनं याति मृतो नास्त्यत्र संशयः।

tatra tīrthe tu yaḥ snātvā bhaktyārcayati śaṅkaram| rudrasya bhavanaṁ yāti mṛto nāstyatra saṁśayaḥ||

Whoever bathes there at that tirtha and with devotion worships Shankara - dying, he goes to the abode of Rudra, there is no doubt in this.

Verse 3 (skanda.5.272.3)

कल्पक्षये ततः पूर्णे क्रीडित्वा च इहागतः। आवियोगेन तिष्ठेत पूज्यमानः शतं समाः।

kalpakṣaye tataḥ pūrṇe krīḍitvā ca ihāgataḥ| āviyogena tiṣṭheta pūjyamānaḥ śataṁ samāḥ||

When the kalpa comes to an end, having sported there fully, coming again to this world, he remains honoured for a hundred years, without separation.
