The Greatness of Karmadeshvara Tirtha

Verse 1 (skanda.5.278.1)

मार्कण्डेय उवाच। ततो गच्छेत्तु राजेन्द्र कर्मदीतीर्थमुत्तमम् । यत्र तिष्ठति विघ्नेशो गणनाथो महाबलः ।

mārkaṇḍeya uvāca| tato gacchet tu rājendra karmadītīrtham uttamam| yatra tiṣṭhati vighneśo gaṇanātho mahābalaḥ||

Markandeya said: Thereafter, O king of kings, one should go to the excellent tirtha of Karmadi, where the great and mighty Vighnesha, lord of the ganas, resides.

Verse 2 (skanda.5.278.2)

तत्र तीर्थे नरः स्नात्वा चतुर्थ्यां वा ह्युपोषितः । विघ्नं न विद्यते तस्य सप्तजन्मनि भारत ।

tatra tīrthe naraḥ snātvā caturthyāṁ vā hy upoṣitaḥ| vighnaṁ na vidyate tasya saptajanmani bhārata||

O Bharata, a man who bathes at that tirtha, or fasts there on the fourth lunar day, encounters no obstacle for seven births.

Verse 3 (skanda.5.278.3)

तत्र तीर्थे हि यत्किंचिद्दीयते नृपसत्तम । तदक्षयफलं सर्वं जायते नात्र संशयः ।

tatra tīrthe hi yat kiñcid dīyate nṛpasattama| tad akṣayaphalaṁ sarvaṁ jāyate nātra saṁśayaḥ||

O best of kings, whatever, however little, is given there at that tirtha, all of it becomes imperishable in fruit - of this there is no doubt.
