Verse 1 (skanda.5.340.1)

श्रीमार्कण्डेय उवाच। ततो गच्छेन्महीपाल एरण्डीतीर्थमुत्तमम् । स्नानमात्रेण तत्रैव ब्रह्महत्या प्रणश्यति ॥ १ ॥

śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca| tato gacchenmahīpāla eraṇḍītīrthamuttamam | snānamātreṇa tatraiva brahmahatyā praṇaśyati || 1 ||

Sri Markandeya said: Thereafter, O king, one should go to the excellent Erandi-tirtha, where by bathing alone the sin of brahmin-slaying is destroyed.

Verse 2 (skanda.5.340.2)

मासि चाश्वयुजे तत्र शुक्लपक्षे चतुर्दशीम् । उपोष्य प्रयतः स्नातस्तर्पयेत्पितृदेवताः ॥ २ ॥

māsi cāśvayuje tatra śuklapakṣe caturdaśīm | upoṣya prayataḥ snātastarpayetpitṛdevatāḥ || 2 ||

In the month of Ashvina, on the fourteenth of the bright fortnight, having fasted and, pure, bathed there, one should offer tarpana to the ancestor-deities.

Verse 3 (skanda.5.340.3)

पुत्रर्द्धिरूपसम्पन्नो जीवेच्च शरदां शतम् । शिवलोकं मृतो याति नात्र कार्या विचारणा ॥ ३ ॥

putrarddhirūpasampanno jīvecca śaradāṁ śatam | śivalokaṁ mṛto yāti nātra kāryā vicāraṇā || 3 ||

Endowed with sons, prosperity, and beauty, one lives a hundred autumns; and after death goes to the world of Shiva — of this there is no need for doubt.
