The Glory of Bhairaveshvara and the Mother-Goddesses

Verse 1 (skanda.7.228.1)

ईश्वर उवाच। ततो गच्छेन्महादेवि मातृस्थानमनुत्तमम्। भैरवेशेति विख्यातं सर्वभयविनाशनम्

īśvara uvāca| tato gacchenmahādevi mātṛsthānamanuttamam| bhairaveśeti vikhyātaṁ sarvabhayavināśanam

Ishvara said: Then, O great Goddess, one should go to that supreme abode of the Mothers, renowned by the name Bhairavesha, the destroyer of all fear.

Verse 2 (skanda.7.228.2)

चतुर्दश्यां विधानेन कृष्णपक्षे यतात्मवान्। पूजयेद्गन्धपुष्पैश्च बलिदानैस्तथोत्तमैः

caturdaśyāṁ vidhānena kṛṣṇapakṣe yatātmavān| pūjayedgandhapuṣpaiśca balidānaistathottamaiḥ

On the fourteenth day of the dark fortnight, with self-control, one should duly worship him with fragrance and flowers, and likewise with excellent offerings.

Verse 3 (skanda.7.228.3)

तं पुत्रमिव योगिन्यो रक्षंति भुवि मातरः

taṁ putramiva yoginyo rakṣaṁti bhuvi mātaraḥ

The Yoginis and the Mothers protect him on earth as if he were their own son.
