The Glory of Ganapati

Verse 1 (skanda.7.230.1)

ईश्वर उवाच। ततो गच्छेन्महादेवि देवं गणपतिप्रियम्। तत्रैव संस्थितं सम्यङ्मया तत्र नियोजितः

īśvara uvāca| tato gacchenmahādevi devaṁ gaṇapatipriyam| tatraiva saṁsthitaṁ samyaṅmayā tatra niyojitaḥ

Ishvara said: Then, O great Goddess, one should go to the beloved god Ganapati, who is duly stationed there, appointed to that place by me.

Verse 2 (skanda.7.230.2)

गङ्गाया दक्षिणे देवि क्षेत्ररक्षणतत्परः। माघे कृष्णचतुर्दश्यां यस्तं पूजयते नरः

gaṅgāyā dakṣiṇe devi kṣetrarakṣaṇatatparaḥ| māghe kṛṣṇacaturdaśyāṁ yastaṁ pūjayate naraḥ

Situated, O goddess, to the south of the Ganga, he is intent upon guarding the field. That man who worships him on the fourteenth day of the dark fortnight of Magha,

Verse 3 (skanda.7.230.3)

दिव्यमोदकनैवेद्यैः पुष्पधूपादिभिः क्रमात्। न तस्य जायते विघ्नं यावत्क्षेत्रे वसत्यसौ

divyamodakanaivedyaiḥ puṣpadhūpādibhiḥ kramāt| na tasya jāyate vighnaṁ yāvatkṣetre vasatyasau

with an offering of divine modakas, and in due order with flowers, incense, and the like—for him no obstacle arises for as long as he dwells in that field.
