The Greatness of Pingaladitya, Goddess Pinga, and Shukreshvara

Verse 1 (skanda.7.247.1)

ईश्वर उवाच। तत्रैव संस्थितं पश्येत्सूर्यं पापप्रणाशनम्। तथा च पिंगलां देवीं पार्वतीरूपधारिणीम्

īśvara uvāca| tatraiva saṁsthitaṁ paśyetsūryaṁ pāpapraṇāśanam| tathā ca piṁgalāṁ devīṁ pārvatīrūpadhāriṇīm

Ishvara said: There, right at that place, one should behold Surya, the destroyer of sin, and likewise the Goddess Pingala, who bears the form of Parvati.

Verse 2 (skanda.7.247.2)

तृतीयायां विशेषेण ह्युपवासं करोति यः। सर्वान्कामानवाप्नोति धनवान्पुत्रवान्भवेत्

tṛtīyāyāṁ viśeṣeṇa hyupavāsaṁ karoti yaḥ| sarvānkāmānavāpnoti dhanavānputravānbhavet

Whoever observes a fast especially on the third lunar day obtains all his desires and becomes wealthy and blessed with sons.

Verse 3 (skanda.7.247.3)

तत्रैव संस्थितं पश्येच्छुक्रेश्वरमिति श्रुतम्। तं दृष्ट्वा मानवो देवि मुक्तः स्यात्सर्वपातकैः

tatraiva saṁsthitaṁ paśyecchukreśvaramiti śrutam| taṁ dṛṣṭvā mānavo devi muktaḥ syātsarvapātakaiḥ

There too one should behold the linga renowned as Shukreshvara. O Devi, a man who beholds it becomes freed from all sins.
