The Glory of Bakulasvami

Verse 1 (skanda.7.312.1)

ईश्वर उवाच। तस्मादुत्तरदिग्भागे धनुषामष्टभिः प्रिये। बकुलस्वामिनं सूर्यं तं पश्येद्दुःखनाशनम्

īśvara uvāca| tasmāduttaradigbhāge dhanuṣāmaṣṭabhiḥ priye| bakulasvāminaṁ sūryaṁ taṁ paśyedduḥkhanāśanam

Ishvara said: From there, O beloved, eight dhanus to the north, one should behold Surya named Bakulasvami, the destroyer of sorrow.

Verse 2 (skanda.7.312.2)

रविवारेण सप्तम्यां कुर्याज्जागरणं नरः। सर्वान्कामानवाप्नोति सूर्यलोके महीयते

ravivāreṇa saptamyāṁ kuryājjāgaraṇaṁ naraḥ| sarvānkāmānavāpnoti sūryaloke mahīyate

A man who keeps a night-vigil on a Sunday falling on the seventh lunar day obtains all his desires and is glorified in the world of the Sun.
