The Glory of the Pair of Lingas at Unnata

Verse 1 (skanda.7.320.1)

ईश्वर उवाच। तस्माच्च पूर्वदिग्भागे किञ्चिदाग्नेयसंस्थितम्। लिंगद्वयं महापुण्यं विश्वकर्मप्रतिष्ठितम्

īśvara uvāca| tasmācca pūrvadigbhāge kiñcidāgneyasaṁsthitam| liṁgadvayaṁ mahāpuṇyaṁ viśvakarmapratiṣṭhitam

Ishvara said: From there, to the east, a little toward the southeast, is a pair of highly meritorious lingas, consecrated by Vishvakarma.

Verse 2 (skanda.7.320.2)

यदा वै नगरं कर्तुं त्वष्टा तत्र समागतः। प्रतिष्ठाप्य महादेवं नगरं कृतवांस्ततः

yadā vai nagaraṁ kartuṁ tvaṣṭā tatra samāgataḥ| pratiṣṭhāpya mahādevaṁ nagaraṁ kṛtavāṁstataḥ

When Tvashtar came there to build the city, he first consecrated a linga of the great god, and thereafter built the city.

Verse 3 (skanda.7.320.3)

कृत्वा च नगरं रम्यं लिंगस्यास्य प्रभावतः। पुनः प्रतिष्ठितं लिंगं तेन वै विश्वकर्मणा

kṛtvā ca nagaraṁ ramyaṁ liṁgasyāsya prabhāvataḥ| punaḥ pratiṣṭhitaṁ liṁgaṁ tena vai viśvakarmaṇā

Having built the delightful city through the power of this linga, another linga was again consecrated there by that same Vishvakarma.

Verse 4 (skanda.7.320.4)

कर्मादौ कर्मणश्चान्ते यात्रोद्वाहगृहादिके। लिंगद्वयं पूजयित्वा सिद्धिमाप्नोति तत्क्षणात्

karmādau karmaṇaścānte yātrodvāhagṛhādike| liṁgadvayaṁ pūjayitvā siddhimāpnoti tatkṣaṇāt

At the beginning and at the end of any undertaking — a journey, a marriage, house-building and the like — worshipping this pair of lingas, one obtains success at once.

Verse 5 (skanda.7.320.5)

तस्मात्सर्वप्रयत्नेन गंधामृतरसोदकैः। नैवेद्यै विविधैर्देवि लिंगयुग्मं प्रपूजयेत्

tasmātsarvaprayatnena gaṁdhāmṛtarasodakaiḥ| naivedyai vividhairdevi liṁgayugmaṁ prapūjayet

Therefore, O Goddess, with all effort, using scent, water like the essence of nectar, and various food offerings, one should worship this pair of lingas.
