The Glory of Koti-hrada and Mandukeshvara

Verse 1 (skanda.7.361.1)

ईश्वर उवाच। ततो गच्छेन्महादेवि मण्डूकेश्वरमित्यपि। मांडूक्यायननाम्ना वै लिंगं तत्र प्रतिष्ठितम्

īśvara uvāca| tato gacchenmahādevi maṇḍūkeśvaramityapi| māṁḍūkyāyananāmnā vai liṁgaṁ tatra pratiṣṭhitam

Ishvara said: Thereafter, O great Goddess, one should also go to the place called Mandukeshvara, where a linga is enshrined under the name Mandukyayana.

Verse 2 (skanda.7.361.2)

तत्र कोटिह्रदो देवि तथा कोटीश्वरः शिवः। तत्र मातृगणश्चैव स्थितः कामफलप्रदः

tatra koṭihrado devi tathā koṭīśvaraḥ śivaḥ| tatra mātṛgaṇaścaiva sthitaḥ kāmaphalapradaḥ

O Goddess, there lies the Koti-hrada (the lake of ten million tirthas), and there too is Shiva as Koteshvara; there also dwells the group of Mother-goddesses who grant the fruit of one's desire.

Verse 3 (skanda.7.361.3)

स्नात्वा कोटि ह्रदे तीर्थे तल्लिंगं यः प्रपूजयेत्। मातॄस्तत्रैव संपूज्य दुःखशोकाद्विमुच्यते

snātvā koṭi hrade tīrthe talliṁgaṁ yaḥ prapūjayet| mātṝstatraiva saṁpūjya duḥkhaśokādvimucyate

One who bathes at the Koti-hrada tirtha and duly worships that linga, and there also properly worships the Mother-goddesses, is freed from sorrow and grief.

Verse 4 (skanda.7.361.4)

तस्मात्पूर्वेण देवेशि योजनैकेन निर्मलम्। त्रितकूपेति विख्यातं सर्वपातकनाशनम्। सर्वेषां देवि तीर्थानां यत्तत्रैव व्यवस्थितिः

tasmātpūrveṇa deveśi yojanaikena nirmalam| tritakūpeti vikhyātaṁ sarvapātakanāśanam| sarveṣāṁ devi tīrthānāṁ yattatraiva vyavasthitiḥ

O Goddess of gods, one yojana to the east of that lies the pure tirtha renowned as Tritakupa, destroyer of every sin — O Goddess, the place where the presence of all tirthas together abides.
