The Glory of Gangadhara-tirtha

Verse 1 (skanda.7.445.1)

॥ पुलस्त्य उवाच ॥ गंगाधरं ततो गच्छेत्सुपुण्यं विमलोदकम्॥ येन गंगा धृता राजन्निपतन्ती नभस्तलात्

|| pulastya uvāca || gaṁgādharaṁ tato gacchetsupuṇyaṁ vimalodakam|| yena gaṁgā dhṛtā rājannipatantī nabhastalāt

Pulastya said: Thereafter one should go to Gangadhara, most sacred, with pure waters, O king, where the Ganga, falling from the vault of the sky, was held.

Verse 2 (skanda.7.445.2)

आहूता देव देवेन ह्यचलेश्वररूपिणा॥ हरेण रभसा राजन्यत्पुरा कथितं तव

āhūtā deva devena hyacaleśvararūpiṇā|| hareṇa rabhasā rājanyatpurā kathitaṁ tava

She was called down with great force by Hara, the god of gods, in his form as Achaleshvara, O king, as has already been told to you.

Verse 3 (skanda.7.445.3)

तत्र यः कुरुते स्नानमष्टम्यां च समाहितः॥ स गच्छेत्परमं स्थानं देवै रपि सुदुर्लभम्

tatra yaḥ kurute snānamaṣṭamyāṁ ca samāhitaḥ|| sa gacchetparamaṁ sthānaṁ devairapi sudurlabham

Whoever, with focused mind, bathes there on the eighth lunar day attains that supreme abode, most difficult to reach even for the gods.
