dvārāvatīṁ vinā viprā muktirna prāpyate kalau| purāṇasaṁhitāmetāṁ kṛtavānbalibandhanaḥ| dadau sa tu prasādena pūrvaṁ mahyaṁ dvijottamāḥ
O brahmins, without Dvaravati, liberation is not attained in the Kali age. This Puranic compendium was composed by him who bound Bali (Vishnu), and, O best of brahmins, it was he who, of old, graciously gave it to me.
Verse 57 (skanda.7.469.57)
ihārthe ca purā proktamitihāso dvijottamāḥ| pradyumnena susaṁvāde mārkaṇḍena mahātmanā
O best of brahmins, on this matter this same history was told of old, in the beautiful dialogue between Pradyumna and the great sage Markandeya.
