सनातनः

The eternal, who has existed since before all beginnings and will continue after all endings as the permanent ground beneath all temporal change

सनातन, जो सभी आरम्भों से पहले अस्तित्व में थे और सभी समाप्तियों के बाद भी सभी कालिक परिवर्तन के नीचे स्थायी आधार के रूप में जारी रहेंगे

सनातन दत्तात्रेय को सनातन: शाश्वत नाम देता है। भारत की पूरी धार्मिक और दार्शनिक परम्परा खुद को 'सनातन धर्म' कहती है। दत्तात्रेय सनातन के रूप में इस शाश्वत सिद्धान्त की व्यक्तिगत अभिव्यक्ति हैं। भारत में हर मन्दिर, हर पवित्र ग्रन्थ, हर गुरु वंश-परम्परा सनातन की शाश्वत अभिव्यक्ति में भाग लेती है।
