जगत की माँ - समस्त लोकों और प्राणियों की जननी, जो विश्व-माता के रूप में सबका पालन-पोषण करती हैं

बेंगलुरू के एक फ्लैट में रोज़ सुबह खाना बनाते हुए दादी माँ कहती हैं - 'जगदम्बा, पूरे जगत की माँ हो, मेरे बच्चों को भी भर-पेट खिलाना।' यह सहज प्रार्थना ही 'जगदम्बा' के नाम का सार है। जो माँ अपने परिवार को खिलाती है, वह स्वयं जगदम्बा का रूप है।
