कनकधारा स्तोत्रम्
Kanakadhara Stotram -- Adi Shankaracharya's 18-verse hymn to Goddess Lakshmi that once rained golden amla fruit upon a poor home. Recited to remove poverty and invoke wealth, abundance, and grace.
कनकधारा स्तोत्र -- आदि शंकराचार्य रचित माँ लक्ष्मी की 18 श्लोकों की स्तुति, जिसने एक निर्धन घर पर स्वर्ण आँवलों की वर्षा कराई। दरिद्रता-नाश, धन और समृद्धि के लिए पढ़ा जाता है।
अङ्गं हरेः पुलकभूषणमाश्रयन्ती भृङ्गाङ्गनेव मुकुलाभरणं तमालम्। अङ्गीकृताखिलविभूतिरपाङ्गलीला माङ्गल्यदास्तु मम मङ्गलदेवतायाः॥१॥
aṅgaṃ hareḥ pulakabhūṣaṇamāśrayantī bhṛṅgāṅganeva mukulābharaṇaṃ tamālam | aṅgīkṛtākhilavibhūtirapāṅgalīlā māṅgalyadāstu mama maṅgaladevatāyāḥ ||1||
मुझे हरि के शरीर पर आश्रय लेने वाली, रोमांच से भूषित तमाल वृक्ष पर भ्रमरी के समान मुकुल-आभूषण धारण करने वाली, समस्त ऐश्वर्य को स्वीकार करने वाली मंगलदेवता की कटाक्ष-लीला मंगल प्रदान करे।
May the playful sidelong glance of the Goddess of auspiciousness bestow auspiciousness on me. That glance rests on the body of Hari, which thrills with devotion, just as a female bee settles on a tamala tree adorned with fresh buds, and it has taken on the form of all glory and wealth.
मुग्धा मुहुर्विदधती वदने मुरारेः प्रेमत्रपाप्रणिहितानि गतागतानि। माला दृशोर्मधुकरीव महोत्पले या सा मे श्रियं दिशतु सागरसम्भवायाः॥२॥
mugdhā muhurvidadhatī vadane murāreḥ prematrapāpraṇihitāni gatāgatāni | mālā dṛśormadhukarīva mahotpale yā sā me śriyaṃ diśatu sāgarasambhavāyāḥ ||2||
मुरारि के मुख पर बार-बार भोली दृष्टि डालने वाली, प्रेम और लज्जा से युक्त आती-जाती, महोत्पल पर भ्रमरी के समान दृष्टिमाला वाली सागरकन्या मुझे श्री प्रदान करें।
May that garland-like glance of the ocean-born Goddess grant me prosperity, the glance that innocently moves back and forth on Murari's face again and again out of love mixed with shyness, like a female bee hovering over a great lotus.
विश्वामरेन्द्रपदविभ्रमदानदक्षम् आनन्दहेतुरधिकं मुरविद्विषोऽपि। ईषन्निषीदतु मयि क्षणमीक्षणार्धम् इन्दीवरोदरसहोदरमिन्दिरायाः॥३॥
viśvāmarendrapadavibhramadānadakṣam ānandahetauradhikaṃ muravidviṣo'pi | īṣanniṣīdatu mayi kṣaṇamīkṣaṇārdham indīvarodarasahodaramindirāyāḥ ||3||
समस्त देवेंद्रों को पद देने में समर्थ, मुरारि के लिए भी आनंद का प्रमुख कारण, नीलकमल के भीतरी भाग जैसी इंदिरा की अर्ध-कटाक्ष दृष्टि क्षणभर मुझ पर ठहरे।
May the half-glance of Indira rest on me for a moment, that glance capable of granting the glory of Indra's own throne, a greater cause of joy even to Vishnu himself, and dark like the inside of a blue lotus.
आमीलिताक्षमधिगम्य मुदा मुकुन्दम् आनन्दकन्दमनिमेषमनङ्गतन्त्रम्। आकेकरस्थितकनीनिकपक्ष्मनेत्रं भूत्यै भवेन्मम भुजङ्गशयाङ्गनायाः॥४॥
āmīlitākṣamadhigamya mudā mukundam ānandakandamanimeṣamanaṅgatantram | ākekarasthitakanīnikapakṣmanetraṃ bhūtyai bhavenmama bhujaṅgaśayāṅganāyāḥ ||4||
आधी बंद आँखों से आनंदपूर्वक मुकुंद को निहारने वाली, आनंद की जड़ रूप, कामतंत्र स्वरूप, तिरछी पलकों वाली भुजंगशायी की प्रिया की दृष्टि मेरे ऐश्वर्य का कारण बने।
May the half-closed, unwinking eye of the consort of the serpent-bedded Lord, fixed sideways with fluttering lashes, an eye that is the very root of bliss and the manual of love, cast upon Mukunda in joy, become the cause of my prosperity.
बाह्वन्तरे मधुजितः श्रितकौस्तुभे या हारावलीव हरिनीलमयी विभाति। कामप्रदा भगवतोऽपि कटाक्षमाला कल्याणमावहतु मे कमलालयायाः॥५॥
bāhvantare madhujitaḥ śritakaustubhe yā hārāvalīva harinīlamayī vibhāti | kāmapradā bhagavato'pi kaṭākṣamālā kalyāṇamāvahatu me kamalālayāyāḥ ||5||
मधुसूदन की भुजाओं के मध्य कौस्तुभमणि के पास हरिनील हारावली के समान शोभित, भगवान को भी कामना देने वाली कमलालया की कटाक्षमाला मेरा कल्याण करे।
May the garland of sidelong glances of the lotus-dwelling Goddess bring me auspiciousness, that glance which shines like a string of sapphires resting between the arms of Madhu's conqueror near the Kaustubha gem, and which grants even the Lord himself his desires.
कालाम्बुदालिललितोरसि कैटभारेर् धाराधरे स्फुरति या तडिदङ्गनेव। मातुः समस्तजगतां महनीयमूर्तिर् भद्राणि मे दिशतु भार्गवनन्दनायाः॥६॥
kālāmbudālilalitorasi kaiṭabhārer dhārādhare sphurati yā taḍidaṅganeva | mātuḥ samastajagatāṃ mahanīyamūrtir bhadrāṇi me diśatu bhārgavanandanāyāḥ ||6||
कैटभारि के काले मेघ जैसे विशाल वक्षस्थल पर बिजली की रेखा के समान चमकने वाली, समस्त जगत की माता, भार्गवनंदिनी की महनीय मूर्ति मुझे शुभ प्रदान करे।
May the venerable form of the daughter of Bhrigu, mother of all worlds, bestow blessings on me, she who shines like a streak of lightning on the beautiful, cloud-dark chest of Kaitabha's foe.
प्राप्तं पदं प्रथमतः किल यत्प्रभावान् माङ्गल्यभाजि मधुमाथिनि मन्मथेन। मय्यापतेत्तदिह मन्थरमीक्षणार्धं मन्दालसं च मकरालयकन्यकायाः॥७॥
prāptaṃ padaṃ prathamataḥ kila yatprabhāvān māṅgalyabhāji madhumāthini manmathena | mayyāpatettadiha mantharamīkṣaṇārdhaṃ mandālasaṃ ca makarālayakanyakāyāḥ ||7||
जिनके प्रभाव से मन्मथ ने मंगलमय मधुसूदन के हृदय में सर्वप्रथम स्थान पाया, उस समुद्रकन्या का मंथर और मंदालस अर्ध-कटाक्ष मुझ पर पड़े।
By whose power Manmatha first found a place on the auspicious form of Madhu's slayer, may that same slow, languid half-glance of the ocean's daughter fall upon me here.
दद्याद् दयानुपवनो द्रविणाम्बुधाराम् अस्मिन्नकिञ्चनविहङ्गशिशौ विषण्णे। दुष्कर्मघर्ममपनीय चिराय दूरं नारायणप्रणयिनीनयनाम्बुवाहः॥८॥
dadyāddayānupavano draviṇāmbudhārāṃ asminnakiñcanavihaṅgaśiśau viṣaṇṇe | duṣkarmagharmamapanīya cirāya dūraṃ nārāyaṇapraṇayinīnayanāmbuvāhaḥ ||8||
इस निर्धन, विषण्ण पक्षीशिशु पर दयारूपी अनुकूल वायु द्रविण की धारा प्रदान करे और नारायणप्रिया के नेत्ररूपी मेघ दुष्कर्म के ताप को सदा के लिए दूर करें।
May the favorable breeze of compassion grant a stream of wealth to this destitute, dejected fledgling bird that I am, and may the rain-cloud of Narayana's beloved's eyes remove far away, for a long time, the heat of past misdeeds.
इष्टा विशिष्टमतयोऽपि यया दयार्द्र दृष्ट्या त्रिविष्टपपदं सुलभं लभन्ते। दृष्टिः प्रहृष्टकमलोदरदीप्तिरिष्टां पुष्टिं कृषीष्ट मम पुष्करविष्टरायाः॥९॥
iṣṭāviśiṣṭamatayo'pi yayā dayārdra dṛṣṭyā triviṣṭapapadaṃ sulabhaṃ labhante | dṛṣṭiḥ prahṛṣṭakamalodaradīptiriṣṭāṃ puṣṭiṃ kṛṣīṣṭa mama puṣkaraviṣṭarāyāḥ ||9||
जिनकी दयार्द्र दृष्टि से विशिष्ट बुद्धिवाले भी सुगमता से स्वर्गपद पाते हैं, वह प्रफुल्ल कमल के भीतरी भाग जैसी दीप्तिमान दृष्टि मुझे इष्ट पुष्टि प्रदान करे।
By whose compassion-moist glance even those of ordinary intellect easily attain the state of heaven, may that glance of the lotus-throned Goddess, radiant like the inside of a blooming lotus, grant me the nourishment I desire.
गीर्देवतेति गरुडध्वजसुन्दरीति शाकम्भरीति शशिशेखरवल्लभेति। सृष्टिस्थितिप्रलयकेलिषु संस्थितायै तस्यै नमस्त्रिभुवनैकगुरोस्तरुण्यै॥१०॥
gīrdevateti garuḍadhvajasundarīti śākambharīti śaśiśekharavallabheti | sṛṣṭisthitipralayakeliṣu saṃsthitāyai tasyai namastribhuvanaikagurostaruṇyai ||10||
जो सृष्टि, स्थिति और प्रलय की लीलाओं में स्थित रहती हैं, उन गीर्देवता, गरुड़ध्वजसुंदरी, शाकंभरी, शशिशेखरवल्लभा, त्रिभुवन के एकमात्र गुरु की तरुणी को नमस्कार।
Salutations to her who is called the Goddess of Speech, the beauty of the eagle-bannered Lord, Shakambhari, and the beloved of the moon-crested one, who abides in the playful acts of creation, preservation, and dissolution, the youthful consort of the sole Guru of the three worlds.
श्रुत्यै नमोऽस्तु शुभकर्मफलप्रसूत्यै रत्यै नमोऽस्तु रमणीयगुणार्णवायै। शक्त्यै नमोऽस्तु शतपत्रनिकेतनायै पुष्ट्यै नमोऽस्तु पुरुषोत्तमवल्लभायै॥११॥
śrutyai namo'stu śubhakarmaphalaprasūtyai ratyai namo'stu ramaṇīyaguṇārṇavāyai | śaktyai namo'stu śatapatraniketanāyai puṣṭyai namo'stu puruṣottamavallabhāyai ||11||
शुभकर्मफल देने वाली श्रुति को नमस्कार, रमणीय गुणों की सागर रति को नमस्कार, शतदल में निवास करने वाली शक्ति को नमस्कार, पुरुषोत्तम की प्रिया पुष्टि को नमस्कार।
Salutations to Shruti, giver of the fruits of auspicious deeds; salutations to Rati, ocean of lovely virtues; salutations to Shakti, dwelling in the hundred-petalled lotus; salutations to Pushti, beloved of Purushottama.
नमोऽस्तु नालीकनिभाननायै नमोऽस्तु दुग्धोदधिजन्मभूत्यै। नमोऽस्तु सोमामृतसोदरायै नमोऽस्तु नारायणवल्लभायै॥१२॥
namo'stu nālīkanibhānanāyai namo'stu dugdhodadhijanmabhūtyai | namo'stu somāmṛtasodarāyai namo'stu nārāyaṇavallabhāyai ||12||
कमलमुखी को नमस्कार, क्षीरसागर से उत्पन्न को नमस्कार, चंद्रामृत की सहोदरा को नमस्कार, नारायणप्रिया को नमस्कार।
Salutations to her whose face resembles the lotus, salutations to her who was born of the ocean of milk, salutations to her who is sister to the nectar-moon, salutations to her who is beloved of Narayana.
सम्पत्कराणि सकलेन्द्रियनन्दनानि साम्राज्यदानविभवानि सरोरुहाक्षि। त्वद्वन्दनानि दुरिताहरणोद्यतानि मामेव मातरनिशं कलयन्तु मान्ये॥१३॥
sampatkarāṇi sakalendriyanandanāni sāmrājyadānavibhavāni saroruhākṣi | tvadvandanāni duritāharaṇodyatāni māmeva mātaranisaṃ kalayantu mānye ||13||
हे पूज्य माता, कमलनयनी! तुम्हारे वे वंदन, जो संपत्ति देते हैं, समस्त इंद्रियों को आनंदित करते हैं, साम्राज्य प्रदान करते हैं और पाप हरने को तत्पर हैं, मुझे निरंतर अपनाएं।
O lotus-eyed, venerable Mother! May my constant salutations to you, which bring prosperity, delight all the senses, bestow the glory of sovereignty, and stand ready to remove sin, always hold me close.
यत्कटाक्षसमुपासनाविधिः सेवकस्य सकलार्थसम्पदः। संतनोति वचनाङ्गमानसैस् त्वां मुरारिहृदयेश्वरीं भजे॥१४॥
yatkaṭākṣasamupāsanāvidhiḥ sevakasya sakalārthasampadaḥ | saṃtanoti vacanāṅgamānasais tvāṃ murārihṛdayeśvarīṃ bhaje ||14||
जिनकी कटाक्ष-उपासना सेवक को वाणी, शरीर और मन से समस्त अर्थ-संपदा प्रदान करती है, उन मुरारि की हृदयेश्वरी की मैं भक्ति करता हूँ।
I worship you, the mistress of Murari's heart, whose ritual worship through the sidelong glance grants the devotee all wealth and objects of desire, worship offered through speech, body, and mind.
सरसिजनिलये सरोजहस्ते धवलतमांशुकगन्धमाल्यशोभे। भगवति हरिवल्लभे मनोज्ञे त्रिभुवनभूतिकरि प्रसीद मह्यम्॥१५॥
sarasijanilaye sarojahaste dhavalatamāṃśukagandhamālyaśobhe | bhagavati harivallabhe manojñe tribhuvanabhūtikari prasīda mahyam ||15||
हे कमल-निवासिनी, कमलहस्ता, उज्ज्वल वस्त्र-गंध-माला से सुशोभित, हरिप्रिया, मनोज्ञ, त्रिभुवन को ऐश्वर्य देने वाली भगवती! मुझ पर प्रसन्न हों।
O dweller of the lotus, lotus-handed one, resplendent in the purest garments, fragrance, and garlands, divine beloved of Hari, most charming one, bestower of prosperity on the three worlds, be gracious to me.
दिग्घस्तिभिः कनककुम्भमुखावसृष्ट स्वर्वाहिनीविमलचारुजलप्लुताङ्गीम्। प्रातर्नमामि जगतां जननीमशेष लोकाधिनाथगृहिणीममृताब्धिपुत्रीम्॥१६॥
digghastibhiḥ kanakakumbhamukhāvasṛṣṭa svarvāhinīvimalacārujalaplutāṅgīm | prātarnamāmi jagatāṃ jananīmaśeṣa lokādhināthagṛhiṇīmamṛtābdhiputrīm ||16||
दिग्गजों की सूंडों से स्वर्णकलशों द्वारा बहाई गई आकाशगंगा के निर्मल जल से स्नात, समस्त लोकों की माता, लोकनाथ की गृहिणी, अमृतसागर की पुत्री को मैं प्रातःकाल नमस्कार करता हूँ।
I bow each morning to the mother of all worlds, her body bathed in the pure, beautiful waters of the celestial river poured from golden pitchers held in the trunks of the elephants of the directions, consort of the Lord of all worlds, daughter of the ocean of nectar.
कमले कमलाक्षवल्लभे त्वं करुणापूरतरङ्गितैरपाङ्गैः। अवलोकय मामकिञ्चनानां प्रथमं पात्रमकृत्रिमं दयायाः॥१७॥
kamale kamalākṣavallabhe tvaṃ karuṇāpūrataraṅgitairapāṅgaiḥ | avalokaya māmakiñcanānāṃ prathamaṃ pātramakṛtrimaṃ dayāyāḥ ||17||
हे कमले, कमलनयन की प्रिये! करुणा की लहरों से युक्त कटाक्षों से मुझ दीन को देखो; मैं तुम्हारी दया का प्रथम और सच्चा पात्र हूँ।
O Kamala, beloved of the lotus-eyed one, look upon me with sidelong glances rippling with waves of compassion; among the destitute I am the truest, most genuine vessel of your mercy.
स्तुवन्ति ये स्तुतिभिरमूभिरन्वहं त्रयीमयीं त्रिभुवनमातरं रमाम्। गुणाधिका गुरुतरभाग्यभागिनो भवन्ति ते भुवि बुधभाविताशयाः॥१८॥
stuvanti ye stutibhiramūbhiranvahaṃ trayīmayīṃ tribhuvanamātaraṃ ramām | guṇādhikā gurutarabhāgyabhāginō bhavanti te bhuvi budhabhāvitāśayāḥ ||18||
जो लोग प्रतिदिन इन स्तुतियों से त्रयीमयी, त्रिभुवन की माता रमा की स्तुति करते हैं, वे गुणवान बनकर महान सौभाग्य पाते हैं और पृथ्वी पर विद्वानों द्वारा सम्मानित होते हैं।
Those who daily praise Rama, embodiment of the three Vedas and mother of the three worlds, with these hymns become endowed with excellent virtues, attain the greatest fortune, and are held in high regard by the wise on earth.
