मंगल चालीसा
The Mangal Chalisa is a devotional hymn dedicated to Mangal Dev, the Mars deity, son of Earth (Dharani-putra), worshipped as remover of debt, disease, fear, and planetary affliction (Mangal dosha). This is the widely circulating short-form Mangal Chalisa found across Hindi devotional sources: 1 opening doha, 13 chaupai couplets, and a closing doha that repeats the opening, totaling 15 verses. Unlike the 40-chaupai chalisas of some other deities, this is the authentic length of the commonly published Mangal Chalisa text.
मंगल चालीसा मंगल देव को समर्पित भक्ति स्तोत्र है, जिन्हें धरती-पुत्र माना जाता है और जो ऋण, रोग, भय तथा मंगल दोष के निवारक के रूप में पूजे जाते हैं। यह हिंदी भक्ति स्रोतों में व्यापक रूप से प्रचलित लघु मंगल चालीसा है: 1 आरंभिक दोहा, 13 चौपाइयाँ, और एक समापन दोहा जो आरंभिक दोहे को दोहराता है, कुल 15 पद। अन्य कुछ देवताओं की 40-चौपाई चालीसाओं के विपरीत, यही सामान्यतः प्रकाशित मंगल चालीसा की वास्तविक लंबाई है।
जय-जय मंगल मोर, कृपा करो गुरु देव। संकट सब हर हरो, करि मंगल सदा सेव॥
jay-jay maṅgala mora, kṛpā karo guru deva. saṅkaṭa saba hara haro, kari maṅgala sadā seva.
हे मंगल देव, आपकी जय हो। हे गुरुदेव, कृपा कीजिए और मेरे सभी संकट दूर कीजिए, तथा मुझे सदा अपनी मंगलमय सेवा में रखिए।
Hail, hail to my Mangal Dev; O divine Guru, grant your grace. Remove all troubles, and keep me always in your auspicious service.
जय मंगल ग्रह मुनि पूजित, शुभ फल दायक नाथ। धातु रुधिर अधिदेव तम, शरणागत करे त्राण॥
jay maṅgala graha muni pūjita, śubha phala dāyaka nātha. dhātu rudhira adhideva tama, śaraṇāgata kare trāṇa.
मंगल ग्रह की जय हो, जो मुनियों द्वारा पूजित और शुभ फल देने वाले नाथ हैं। आप धातु और रक्त के अधिदेवता हैं और शरण में आए भक्तों की रक्षा करते हैं।
Victory to Mangal graha, worshipped by sages, O Lord who grants auspicious fruit. You are the presiding deity of metal and blood, and you protect those who take refuge in you.
रक्तवर्ण तन सुंदर, मस्तक मुकुट विराजत। गदाहस्त त्रिनयन मनोहर, मंगल शुभफलदायक॥
raktavarṇa tana sundara, mastaka mukuṭa virājata. gadāhasta trinayana manohara, maṅgala śubhaphaladāyaka.
आपका शरीर रक्तवर्ण और सुंदर है, मस्तक पर मुकुट सुशोभित है। हाथ में गदा, तीन नेत्र और मनोहर रूप के साथ आप शुभ फल देने वाले मंगल हैं।
Your form is red-hued and beautiful, a crown shines upon your head. Mace in hand, three-eyed and charming, O Mangal, giver of auspicious results.
अमित तेज, बल, मोह नाशक, पिंगल तन अति शोभित। धरणी पुत्र अति, वैभवशाली, पाप-ताप सब हर्ता॥
amita teja, bala, moha nāśaka, piṅgala tana ati śobhita. dharaṇī putra ati, vaibhavaśālī, pāpa-tāpa saba hartā.
आपका तेज और बल असीम है, आप मोह के नाशक हैं, आपका पिंगल शरीर अत्यंत शोभायमान है। आप धरती के पुत्र, वैभवशाली और सब पाप-ताप के हर्ता हैं।
Boundless radiance and strength, destroyer of delusion, your tawny-red form shines greatly. Truly the son of Earth, full of splendor, remover of all sin and suffering.
अस्त्र, शस्त्र, गदा धारण कर, रजत सिंह पर सवार। सप्त धातु का हो प्रदाता, वैद्य, विद्या सुधाकर॥
astra, śastra, gadā dhāraṇa kara, rajata siṃha para savāra. sapta dhātu kā ho pradātā, vaidya, vidyā sudhākara.
अस्त्र-शस्त्र और गदा धारण किए, रजत सिंह पर सवार। आप सप्त धातुओं के प्रदाता, वैद्य और विद्या के सुधाकर हैं।
Bearing weapons, arms, and mace, mounted upon a silvery lion. You are the giver of the seven bodily constituents, a physician, and a moon of learning.
न्यायप्रिय, धर्मरत, भूतिहारी, मंद गति से विख्यात। कुंडली दोष, अशुभ प्रभाव, जीवन में सब हरता॥
nyāyapriya, dharmarata, bhūtihārī, manda gati se vikhyāta. kuṇḍalī doṣa, aśubha prabhāva, jīvana meṁ saba harata.
आप न्यायप्रिय, धर्मरत, भूति के हर्ता और मंद गति के लिए विख्यात हैं। आप कुंडली दोष और अशुभ प्रभाव जीवन से हर लेते हैं।
You love justice, are devoted to dharma, and remove misfortune, known for your steady course. You remove all horoscope afflictions and inauspicious influences in life.
राजस्थान पूजित शिरोमणि, गुरु ग्रह का आभासक। भक्त जनों का संकट हरते, तुम शुभ मंगलकारी॥
rājasthāna pūjita śiromaṇi, guru graha kā ābhāsaka. bhakta janoṁ kā saṅkaṭa harate, tuma śubha maṅgalakārī.
राजस्थान में पूजित शिरोमणि, गुरु ग्रह के आभासक। आप भक्तों का संकट हरते हैं, आप शुभ मंगलकारी हैं।
Crest-jewel worshipped in Rajasthan, reflection of the Guru planet. You remove the troubles of your devotees; you are the bringer of auspiciousness.
बुद्धिवर्धक, ज्ञानदायक, धर्म-अर्थ-काम प्रदायक। तृण-ताप, विपदा हरो, करि सुखदायक मंगल॥
buddhivardhaka, jñānadāyaka, dharma-artha-kāma pradāyaka. tṛṇa-tāpa, vipadā haro, kari sukhadāyaka maṅgala.
आप बुद्धिवर्धक, ज्ञानदायक तथा धर्म-अर्थ-काम के प्रदाता हैं। सूक्ष्म से सूक्ष्म ताप और विपदा हर लीजिए, हे सुखदायक मंगल।
Increaser of intellect, giver of knowledge, granter of dharma, artha, and kama. Remove even the smallest affliction and calamity, O Mangal, bringer of happiness.
महाबली वीर विक्रम, तापत्रय हरो अपार। मंगल ग्रह की कृपा से, सकल मंगल हो साधन॥
mahābalī vīra vikrama, tāpatraya haro apāra. maṅgala graha kī kṛpā se, sakala maṅgala ho sādhana.
महाबली, वीर और विक्रमी, अपार तापत्रय हर लीजिए। मंगल ग्रह की कृपा से सभी साधन मंगलमय हों।
Greatly powerful, heroic and valorous, remove the boundless threefold afflictions. By the grace of Mangal graha, may every endeavor become auspicious.
रोग-क्लेश, पीड़ा हरो, विद्या-बुद्धि बढ़ाओ। शत्रु, समस्त भय हरो, मंगल मूर्ति विराजो॥
roga-kleśa, pīḍā haro, vidyā-buddhi baḍhāo. śatru, samasta bhaya haro, maṅgala mūrti virājo.
रोग-क्लेश और पीड़ा हर लीजिए, विद्या-बुद्धि बढ़ाइए। शत्रु और समस्त भय हर लीजिए, हे मंगल मूर्ति, विराजिए।
Remove disease, affliction, and pain; increase knowledge and intellect. Remove enemies and all fear; O auspicious form, dwell within us.
रूद्र रूप धर, दानव दलन, आप विनाशक दुष्ट। शत्रु नाश, भय निवारण, मंगल भव भय हर्ता॥
rudra rūpa dhara, dānava dalana, āpa vināśaka duṣṭa. śatru nāśa, bhaya nivāraṇa, maṅgala bhava bhaya hartā.
रुद्र रूप धारण कर, दानवों का दलन करने वाले, आप दुष्टों के विनाशक हैं। शत्रु-नाश और भय-निवारण करने वाले, हे भव-भय हर्ता मंगल।
Taking Rudra's fierce form, crusher of demons, you are the destroyer of the wicked. You destroy enemies and remove fear; O Mangal, remover of the fear of worldly existence.
धीर, वीर, मंगल रूप, संकट में संगी। मंगलग्रह की कृपा से, सब मनोरथ पूर हो॥
dhīra, vīra, maṅgala rūpa, saṅkaṭa meṁ saṅgī. maṅgalagraha kī kṛpā se, saba manoratha pūra ho.
धीर, वीर, मंगल रूप, संकट में साथ देने वाले। मंगल ग्रह की कृपा से सभी मनोरथ पूर्ण हों।
Steadfast, brave, of auspicious form, a companion in times of crisis. By the grace of Mangal graha, may all wishes be fulfilled.
शिव के चरणों में शीश नवायें, सुर मुनिजन वन्दित। मंगल ग्रह कृपा करें, भक्त जीवन सफल हो॥
śiva ke caraṇoṁ meṁ śīśa navāyeṁ, sura munijana vandita. maṅgala graha kṛpā kareṁ, bhakta jīvana saphala ho.
शिव के चरणों में शीश नवाने वाले, देवताओं और मुनियों द्वारा वंदित। मंगल ग्रह कृपा करें कि भक्तों का जीवन सफल हो।
You bow your head at Shiva's feet, revered by gods and sages. May Mangal graha show grace, so that devotees' lives become successful.
विघ्न, विपत्ति, संकट हरो, शुभ मंगल करि। मंगल चालीसा जो पढ़े, सब संकट से मुक्त हो॥
vighna, vipatti, saṅkaṭa haro, śubha maṅgala kari. maṅgala cālīsā jo paḍhe, saba saṅkaṭa se mukta ho.
विघ्न, विपत्ति और संकट हरकर शुभ मंगल कीजिए। जो कोई मंगल चालीसा पढ़े, वह सब संकट से मुक्त हो जाए।
Remove obstacles, calamity, and crisis, and bring about auspiciousness. Whoever reads this Mangal Chalisa becomes free from all troubles.
जय-जय मंगल मोर, कृपा करो गुरु देव। संकट सब हर हरो, करि मंगल सदा सेव॥
