परम वास्तविकता के ज्ञाता, जो तत्त्वों को, अस्तित्व के मूलभूत सिद्धान्तों को, सबसे स्थूल से सबसे सूक्ष्म तक, पूर्णतः और प्रत्यक्षतः जानते हैं

शैव सिद्धान्त परम्परा ३६ तत्त्वों की गणना करती है। सांख्य परम्परा २५ की। अद्वैत परम्परा सभी तत्त्वों को अन्ततः एक में घटाती है: ब्रह्म। तत्त्ववेदी अय्यप्पा को वह नाम देता है जो इन सभी को एकसाथ भीतर से जानते हैं।
