दरिद्र नारायण स्वामी विवेकानन्द का सबसे प्रसिद्ध दार्शनिक सूत्रण है जिसने गरीबों की दिव्यता के साथ पहचान करके भारतीय सेवा नैतिकता को रूपान्तरित किया। अय्यप्पा दरिद्रनारायण के रूप में इसी धर्मशास्त्र को शैव-वैष्णव संश्लेषण पर लागू करते हैं।
