मातृवत्सलः

He who cherishes the mother with tender love, whose care for the feminine principle that nurtures and sustains life is as complete as a devoted child's love for the mother who gave birth

माता को कोमल प्रेम से प्रिय रखने वाले, जिनकी पोषण और जीवन को बनाए रखने वाले स्त्रीलिंग सिद्धान्त के प्रति देखभाल उतनी ही सम्पूर्ण है जितनी समर्पित बच्चे का उस माँ के प्रति प्रेम जिसने जन्म दिया

मातृवत्सल माता को विशेष रूप से वत्सल सम्बन्ध में सम्मानित करता है। मातृभक्त (#387) ने प्रभु को अपनी माता के प्रति समर्पित नाम दिया; मातृवत्सल प्रभु को सभी माताओं को उसी कोमल प्रेम से प्रिय रखने वाले के रूप में नाम देता है।
