तीन ताप हैं: आधिदैविक (प्राकृतिक आपदा), आधिभौतिक (दूसरों से कष्ट), आध्यात्मिक (शारीरिक/मानसिक रोग)। जब तीनों एक साथ आएँ, बाढ़ में घर डूबे, पड़ोसी मदद न करे, और बुखार भी आ जाए, तब तापत्रयाग्नि है। ऐसे समय देवी शीतल चाँदनी की तरह शान्ति देती हैं।
