पाँच कलाएँ हैं: निवृत्ति, प्रतिष्ठा, विद्या, शान्ति, और शान्त्यतीत। शान्त्यतीत सबसे ऊँची कला है जो शान्ति से भी परे है। शान्ति में अभी 'शान्ति का अनुभव' है, शान्त्यतीत में अनुभवकर्ता ही विलीन। यह ऐसी अवस्था है जहाँ 'मैं शान्त हूँ' भी नहीं रहता, बस 'है'।
