The Pandavas Are Sent to Varanavata
Duryodhana wins over the subjects with gifts and honours, while counsellors set on by Dhritarashtra praise Varanavata and the great festival of Pashupati held there. When the Pandavas grow curious, Dhritarashtra urges them to go and enjoy themselves there for a while. Yudhishthira, seeing the king's purpose and his own lack of allies, agrees; he takes leave of the elders and the women of the household and asks for their blessings, and the Pandavas set out for Varanavata.
