The Secret of the Shraddha and the Three Pindas
Yudhishthira asks what a poor man should do to gain his highest good, and which gifts are best. Bhishma recounts how a divine messenger asked the ancestors why union is forbidden at a śrāddha and where the three piṇḍas go, and how they explained their course. Vidyutprabha, Shakra and Brihaspati then name expiations and faults (bathing, fasting in the sun, urinating toward the sun or the wind, milking a cow with a young calf), and the ancestors name the rewards of releasing a Nila-shanda bull, lamps in the rains and sesame-water on the new moon.
