Krishna's Vow and the Burning of the Mountain
Bhishma tells Yudhishthira how Krishna, keeping a twelve-year vow for the sake of a son, was visited by Narada, Parvata, Vyasa and other sages, and he announces the dialogue of Shiva and Uma that will follow. A fire then issues from Krishna's mouth and burns the mountain, which he restores with a glance. Questioned by the astonished sages, Krishna explains that the fire was his own self going to Brahma to obtain Kama as his son.
