Shiva's Four Faces, Blue Throat, Pinaka Bow and Bull
Narada reports Uma's questions to Shiva and his answers. Shiva says he took four faces to watch the apsara Tilottama, made to destroy the asuras Sunda and Upasunda; that his throat turned blue when he swallowed the poison that rose at the churning of the ocean; that the Pinaka bow was made from the bamboo that grew on the sage Kanva's head; and that the white bull became his mount after calming his anger at the proud cows.
