The Duties of the Four Castes and the Four Stages of Life
Shiva tells Uma how the four castes were created from the Creator's mouth, arms, thighs and feet, and sets out the duties of Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and Shudras, warning that insulting a Brahmin is insulting Shiva himself. At Uma's request he then describes the duties of the householder, the forest-dweller, the ascetic and the student.
