The Good Deeds of Restraint: Truth, Vows and Purity

Maheshvara tells Uma that good deed is of three kinds and describes the first, the merit of simply ceasing from evil in thought, word and body. He then speaks of the good deeds of observance, above all truth, and answers Uma's questions on how a vow is kept, how outer and inner purity are gained, and what food is pure.
