The Six Factors of a Gift and Its Fruit
Maheshvara answers Uma's doubt about how a man can gain merit by giving what belongs to all. He names the six factors of a gift (giver, receiver, thing given, manner, place and time), describes the worthy giver and recipient, wealth to avoid, and the holy places and times, and warns that repentance, boasting and desire for reward make a gift fruitless.
