The Great Gifts: Food, Gold, Cows, Land, a Bride and Learning
Uma asks what people should give for the sake of dharma, and Maheshvara describes the constant and occasional gifts. He praises the gift of food and the heavenly palaces it wins, then the gifts of gold, of cows and of land, with the rules for giving them and their fruits. He closes with the gift of a maiden in marriage and the gift of learning, which he counts equal to giving it oneself.
