Narada Tells Garuda of His Mother's Slavery

Kadru makes Vinata serve her as a slave. Narada, finding the proud Garuda roaming about, tells him that his mother is a slave in the serpents' house and how she lost the wager. Garuda goes to his mother in anger and grief, then asks Kadru to release her. Kadru refuses to oblige him, but says that Vinata will be freed if he brings the nectar of immortality.
