Uma Completes Her Teaching on Wives and Women

Uma continues her teaching to Maheshvara: the daily conduct of a devoted wife, her service to husband, guests and household, and the highest reward of the faithful wife, who may follow her husband in death or live as a widow in discipline. She then describes the asura, paishacha and rakshasa types of women, their faults and the sufferings that follow. Narada closes the frame: the gathered beings praise Uma, and Maheshvara promises merit, fame, long life and health to those who recite or hear this dialogue.
