Garuda Seizes the Amrita and Meets Indra's Thunderbolt
Continuing his account of Garuda, Bhishma tells how the bird, on the Grandsire's advice, quenches the fire guarding the amrita with butter, strikes down the guards, bursts through the net and carries off the nectar. Indra pursues him with the thunderbolt; Garuda honours the weapon by shedding a single feather, and the sages hail him as Suparna.
