The Eternal Purusha and the Impermanence of the World
Bhishma tells Yudhishthira that even Brahma and the gods, and all the wise of old, have passed away, so that nothing in the world is lasting. Only Prakriti, called nirvana, and the eternal Purusha beyond it are changeless. He explains how dharma shone in the first age and grew weak by the Kali age, and urges Yudhishthira to know Narayana as the supreme Brahman, to serve, remember and praise him, and so reach the state from which there is no return.
