Duryodhana's Vaishnava Sacrifice

With the golden plough ready, the Vaishnava sacrifice begins and Duryodhana is consecrated. Messengers carry invitations to kings and brahmins, and at Duhshasana's bidding one goes to the Pandavas in the Dvaita forest. Yudhishthira courteously declines because of the thirteen-year pledge, while Bhima sends word that they will come to the sacrifice of battle. Kings and brahmins gather, Vidura honours them all at Dhritarashtra's command, and after the closing rites Duryodhana dismisses his guests and returns to Hastinapura.
