Savitri Chooses Satyavan

Savitri returns from her journey to find her father Ashvapati seated with Narada, and tells them she has chosen Satyavan, son of the blind, exiled Shalva king Dyumatsena. Narada praises Satyavan's virtues but reveals his single fault: he will die within a year. Ashvapati urges his daughter to choose another, but Savitri declares that she has chosen once and will not choose again. Narada approves the match, and the king prepares for the wedding.
