The Marriage of Savitri and Satyavan
Ashvapati travels on foot with his brahmins to the forest hermitage of the blind king Dyumatsena and asks him to accept Savitri as his daughter-in-law. Dyumatsena hesitates, fearing she cannot bear the hardship of forest life, but Ashvapati overcomes his doubts and the marriage is performed. Savitri lays aside her ornaments for bark and ochre cloth and wins the hearts of her husband and his parents with her service, yet Narada's words never leave her mind.
