Kunti Tells Vyasa the Secret of Karna's Birth

Kunti tells her father-in-law Vyasa of the boon Durvasas gave her in her father's house, of how she called the Sun god in girlish curiosity, and of the son she bore in secret and set afloat on the water. She confesses that the loss has burned in her ever since, asks to see Karna, and asks that the king too may have his wish. Vyasa answers that she is blameless: she was a maiden, the gods can enter bodies and beget in five ways, and for the mighty all things are pure.
