The Slain Warriors Rise from the Ganga

At nightfall everyone gathers around Vyasa on the bank of the Ganga. Vyasa enters the holy water and calls the dead, and with a great tumult the kings and warriors of both armies, Bhishma, Drona, Karna, Duryodhana and the rest, rise from the river by thousands, shining, wearing divine garments and free of enmity. Vyasa gives Dhritarashtra divine sight, and Gandhari sees by her own power; the whole host watches the wonder, and Dhritarashtra rejoices.
