The Marks of Dharma, Honouring Ascetics and Fire, Worthy Brahmins, and the Gift of Food

Asked for the marks of dharma, Krishna lists the virtues that define it and teaches how ascetics are to be honoured and how fire is to be kept pure. He then describes the kind of Brahmin to whom gifts bear great fruit and turns to the duty of hospitality, stressing that food sustains all life. He closes with the cycle of sun, wind, cloud and rain that produces food, and the heavenly mansions awaiting givers of food.
