Rules of Distress, Worthy Brahmins, and the Duties Toward Teachers
Yudhishthira asks about the dharma of times of distress, and Krishna lists the cases in which the rules of eating and expiation are relaxed. He then describes the Brahmins who are worthy and unworthy to be fed, the fruit of carrying a kinless dead Brahmin, the times fit for the ancestral rite, and the fate of the wealthy who ignore the next world. Next he gives the essence of dharma as Manu taught it: the sacred lands, good conduct, the sacraments, and the duties owed to a guru, an upadhyaya, an acharya, a father and a mother.
