The Year-Long Fast and the Twelve Dvadashi Worships

Yudhishthira asks the fruit of living a whole year on one meal a day, and Krishna describes the vow, its closing gift and its power to cleanse the sins of ten births. He then names his Panchami and gives, month by month from Margashirsha to Kartika, the form of Vishnu to be worshipped on the twelfth day and the sacrifice whose fruit the fast earns. Yudhishthira praises him in a hymn of homage; Krishna gently stops him and tells the fruit of worship on the twelfth of the dark fortnight.
