The Pandavas Encamp at the Mountain and Keep Their Vigil
Yudhishthira's army marches in splendour to the mountain where the treasure lies, and he pitches camp on level, auspicious ground, with brahmins and the chaplain placed in front and rites of peace performed. He asks the brahmins to fix the proper moment, and they answer that the day is holy but that they and the king should first fast and keep austerities. The kings pass the night on beds of kusha grass, listening to the brahmins, and at dawn the brahmins address Yudhishthira.
