Vyasa Permits the Horse Sacrifice; Krishna Is Asked to Take the Consecration
The Pandavas, with Krishna and the Vrishnis, enter Hastinapura and greet Dhritarashtra, Gandhari, Kunti and Vidura; Krishna is honoured for having revived Parikshit. When Vyasa arrives, Yudhishthira asks leave to use the recovered treasure for the great horse sacrifice, and Vyasa grants it and declares the sacrifice cleansing. Yudhishthira then asks Krishna to undertake the consecration himself, but Krishna says that Yudhishthira must do it, and promises his full support.
