Pure and Impure Seed and Womb; the Gayatri; Honour Due to Brahmins

Having heard of the three kinds of gift, Yudhishthira asks Krishna about the marks of pure and impure seed and womb and how Brahmins cross over and carry others across. Krishna describes the Brahmin of unbroken celibacy and the well-born wife, condemns union with an unchaste woman or a Shudra woman, and praises the Gayatri (Savitri) as the life-breath of the Vedas. He then declares that honouring Brahmins is honouring him, lists the hells awaiting those who revile or strike them, and ends by saying that it is through the favour of Brahmins that he bears the earth and conquers the asuras.
