Satyaki Arms and Rides Out; Bhima Stays to Guard the King

Satyaki, wary of being called a coward, agrees to go to Arjuna and tells Yudhishthira of the host he means to break: the elephant troops of mlecchas and Kiratas, the Rukmaratha princes, the Kambojas and the Shakas. His chariot is fitted and its horses yoked; he bathes, gives gold to a thousand snatakas, is blessed by Yudhishthira and mounts. Bhima follows him to the front, but Satyaki sends him back to guard the king and charges into Drona's army.
