Drona Promises to Capture Yudhishthira
Having taken the generalship, Drona offers Duryodhana a boon. Duryodhana asks that Yudhishthira be brought to him alive, explaining that to kill him would only bring the Pandavas' vengeance, while his capture would send them back to the forest after another game of dice. Drona, who dreads Arjuna, grants the boon on a condition: Arjuna must first be drawn away from the king. Duryodhana has the news proclaimed through the camps.
