Ashvatthama Looses the Narayana Weapon
Ashvatthama renews his vow to avenge his father, the armies clash again, and he looses the Narayana weapon, which grows with every blow struck against it and burns the Pandava host. Yudhishthira, gripped by fear, tells his men to flee and says he will enter the fire. Krishna stops the army and commands everyone to lay down their weapons and dismount. Bhima refuses, rides at Ashvatthama and is buried in a storm of arrows while Arjuna, bound by his vow, will not use the Gandiva against the weapon. As the army lays down its arms, the weapon's full force falls on Bhima's head.

Note on the text: Corrected भूतयक्षणाकुलम् → भूतयक्षगणाकुलम् (misprint in Wikisource; यक्षणा is not a word; the CE reads भूतयक्षगणाकुलम्. Line 1 क्रव्यादपक्षिसङ्घुष्टम् is a recension variant of the CE’s शूलक्रव्यादसंघुष्टम्).

therefore, before his very eyes, I shall put his army to flight; and having routed them all, I shall kill that wretch of a Panchala.

With this heavy golden mace, too, I shall strike in battle like Death itself, shattering the weapon of Drona's son.
Verse 53 (7.200.53)
न हि मे विक्रमे तुल्यः कश्चिदस्ति पुमानिह । यथैव सवितुस्तुल्यं ज्योतिरन्यन्न विद्यते ॥

No man here is my equal in prowess, as there is no other light equal to the sun.
Verse 54 (7.200.54)
पश्यतेमौ हि मे बाहू नागराजकरोपमौ । समर्थौ पर्वतस्यापि शैशिरस्य निपातने ॥
paśyatemau hi me bāhū nāgarājakaropamau | samarthau parvatasyāpi śaiśirasya nipātane
Look at these two arms of mine, like the trunks of the king of elephants, able to bring down even a snow mountain.
Verse 55 (7.200.55)
नागायुतसमप्राणो ह्यहमेको नरेष्विह । शक्रो यथाऽप्रतिद्वन्द्वो दिवि देवेषु विश्रुतः ॥
nāgāyutasamaprāṇo hyahameko nareṣviha | śakro yathā'pratidvandvo divi deveṣu viśrutaḥ
Among men I alone have the strength of ten thousand elephants, as Shakra is famed in heaven among the gods as having no rival.

yadi nārāyaṇāstrasya pratiyodvā na vidyate | adyaitatpratiyotsyāmi paśyatsu kurupāṇḍuṣu
If there is no one to oppose the Narayana weapon, I shall oppose it today, while the Kurus and Pandavas look on.
Note on the text: Corrected कुरुपाण्डुपु → कुरुपाण्डुषु (misprint in Wikisource; the locative plural of पाण्डु is पाण्डुषु; the CE reads कुरुपाण्डुषु).
Verse 58 (7.200.58)
Arjuna, Arjuna, Bibhatsu! The Gandiva must not be laid down by you; else, like the stain on the moon, it will mar your spotlessness."
Note on the text: Not in the constituted text of the critical edition: = CE star passages 7.170.51d*1403_01 (line 1) and *1403_02 (line 2). In the CE’s apparatus the label “arjuna uvāca” is printed between these two lines; Wikisource heads only the next verse with Arjuna, and its heading is followed here, so this verse is Bhimasena’s.
