Krishna Challenges Jarasandha

Jarasandha protests that he has done the three strangers no wrong. Krishna answers that he has imprisoned the kings of the earth to sacrifice them to Rudra, a sin that would stain all who could stop it; he praises death in battle as the road to heaven, reveals who they are and challenges Jarasandha to free the kings or fight. Jarasandha taunts Krishna as a cowherd who fled Mathura, vows to avenge Kamsa, refuses to release the kings he won by conquest and offers to fight in any way they choose. He has his son Sahadeva consecrated, and calls to mind his commanders Hamsa and Dibika, while Krishna, mindful of Brahma's command, leaves the killing of Jarasandha to Bhima.
